About Wasabi Sushi & Bento
Wasabi Sushi & Bento is a Japanese restaurant in London on Tottenham Ct Rd, at number 6-17. Founder Mr Kim worked as a chef in Asia for years before opening a stall in Camden Market over 20 years ago, selling sushi and hot bento meals, and the business has since grown into restaurants. The menu spans sushi, poke, ramen, bento, salad and hot dishes. On the cold side, there is a sushi variety tray alongside specialty rolls, and a salmon sashimi box that comes with edamame and seaweed. Hot options include Korean chicken bites and chicken fillet rice. A seating area inside lets guests eat on site. The restaurant is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the fast, reasonably priced sushi, with the salmon sashimi box and the variety tray with a specialty roll and edamame singled out for fresh fish and generous portions. Close behind are the hot dishes, where Korean chicken bites are called delicious and chicken fillet rice is described as not bad. Several describe the seating as plentiful, bright and clean, though another reports dirty tables. Complaints are mixed. One says a full sushi box now comes with only a tiny bit of wasabi sauce and no ginger, and another found the sushi rice a bit hard. One reviewer notes almost no food left by the end of the day, and another calls the accessible toilet's push-button tap unworkable for disabled customers. Two reviewers report food poisoning, one describing severe vomiting hours after eating sashimi and the other describing a nonchalant staff response. Even so, one reviewer says the staff were nice, and the pattern of praise ends on the sushi sets that regulars say they usually order.

“Sorry to say this but I wasn't impressed. I used to love Wasabi but now a full Sushi box comes with only a tiny bit of wasabi sauce and no ginger whatsoever. Cost savings I suppose. Dirty tables didn't help either. Won't go again, there are plenty more Sushi places in town.”

“I ate this sashimi at around 5:00 pm yesterday, and by 10:00 pm I started vomiting severely. I hope the restaurant can pay more attention to food hygiene.”

“Before seeing the musical, we had Wasabi as our dinner. Chicken fillet rice was not bad, while the rice for 🍣 was a bit hard. Since we chose to eat there, we paid 4 pounds more🥲”

“After years working as a chef in Asia, our founder, Mr Kim sensed an opportunity to offer high quality sushi and flavourful hot bento meals to the UK. He started from a stall in Camden Market over 20 years ago, everything made with tasty, authentic ingredients. Today that passion for delicious Asian food remains, whether it’s served in our restaurants, or through our range of meals to enjoy at home or at work.”
