About Chokhi Dhani

Chokhi Dhani is an Indian restaurant at 2 Riverlight Quay in London, with a menu built around Rajasthani cooking. The Maharani Thali anchors it, served with gatte curry and baati soaked in ghee. Street food and modern dishes share the menu with the Rajasthani plates. A drinks list of cocktails and wine runs alongside the food. Painted walls and Rajasthani statues fill the dining room, and idols sit in cabinets near a wooden staircase.

Customer Review Summary

Diners most often return for the Maharani Thali, praising its Gatte curry, dal, churma and ghee-soaked baati as an authentic Rajasthani feast. Close behind are the decor, with its Rajasthani statues, idols and painted walls, and the warm, patient service. One reviewer mentions a birthday cake from the team, another a dessert swapped for a gluten intolerance. Starters like moong dal pakodi, matar tikki and chili paneer get praise, along with the guava mocktail, garlic naan and salty lassi.

“We had a very authentic experience with this chokhi Dhani fine dine. My vegetarian Thali was absolutely well presented by Mehfuz who warmly welcomed us and gave suggestions. I’m so pleased to listen his advice and ordered veg Thali. Thank you for giving us such a great experience.”

“Food was good. The big Maharani thali was not the best Rajasthani food I ever had but still good enough. The garlic naan was really good. Its a bit pricey as compared to what they have to offer.”

“I would give this a overall 3.2 /5 Although starters were tasty I would not recommend getting the mix grill platter ,To charge £28 for 6 morsels feels criminal especially when you are in a city such as London and desi pubs are ripe and everywhere 2/5(tasty but too expensive and can't be called a mix grill) we also had a chili paneer 4.3/5 (probably best item of the night) And kachori chaat 4/5 The mains we had khadi pakroda 3.8/5 the ranistani chicken curry 3/5 and the tomato sev 2/5 (it had a Heinz spaghetti hoops esc taste 😂) Drinks wise cobra👍 was on tap for 6.50 a pint and the cocktails were very good but a tad on the sweet side for £11.95 . I also got a mango lassi and for £4 I expect at least a cup of 300ml but it was more akin to the size of a yogurt pot and was tasty but not worth it in my opinion. The service was good and the atmosphere was like dining in a first class train in the Darjeeling express (in the best way possible ) I would say only worth a visit if in the area”

“Akhil was an outstanding server. Be it any recommendations that you wanna know he was kind and helpful to help us decide for it. Always attentive to our needs. Keep up the good work with Warm hosting. We ordered Guava mocktail which was amazing. For starters we had moong Dal pakodi and matar tikki was delicious too. Main course was a bit disappointing and very mild. Overall had an beautiful evening there! For once I would definitely recommend to visit Choki Dhani♥️”

“Highly recommend tasty food like made at home. The lunch thaali was worth also not too spicy. They replaced moong dhal halva for gulab jamun for gluten intolerance at own discretion, which I really appreciated. The halva was warm and very tasty. The salty lassi was creamy and good. The deco, and service was fab. The price was worth it. Friendly staff and fast service. The hand dryer in the ladies toilet needs fixing.”
