About Bombay Bicycle Chef
Bombay Bicycle Chef is an Indian takeaway at 28 Queenstown Rd in London, where orders are vacuum packed to go so the food travels home sealed. The menu runs from chicken dishes, including Bombay Chicken, to biryani made either with lamb or with chicken. Naan comes in more than one variety, and keema naan is one of them, for eating alongside the mains. Starters round out the menu for anyone ordering more than a main.

Customer Review Summary
Regulars of many years return for the Bombay Chicken, called the star of the show by one reviewer, with the butter chicken close behind as a recommended regular curry. Others praise the vacuum packed takeaway that arrives hot without spills, along with rich taste, real variety and polite service. Biryani draws mixed reactions. One reviewer finds it pretty good but has had better, while another found a lamb biryani with plentiful, well cooked meat, but with rice full of cardamom pods and peppercorns. Dry chicken recurs, in a biryani and in a tasteless pakora. Other reviewers describe a flat round garlic naan, slimy bhindi, a daal lacking flavour and a smelly samosa. One reviewer reports being sick the day after a delivered chicken korma. Another describes half an order falling onto the floor from poor packaging, and a later order where a promised second chicken karai never arrived.

“Last time they packaged the food so poorly, half of it fell on my floor. This time they alleged a 2 for the price of 1 on chicken karai but only sent 1. Won't be ordering from them again.”

“Takeaway. Lamb biriyani - meat well cooked and plentiful but rice full of cardamom pods, peppercorns and whole spices made it difficult to eat without caution. Chicken pakora was dry and completely tasteless. Very average overall.”

“We ordered in. The food was below average in both taste and quality. The garlic naan was a joke- it was a huge piece of round flat bread instead. The bhindi was slimy and the daal lacked flavour. The samosa was smelly and was stuffed with a tasteless mixture of boiled potatoes and salt with a couple of green peas. We ordered because of the very positive reviews but were very disappointed. We barely ate what we ordered”
