About Mr Tandoor Clay Cook Pros

Mr Tandoor Clay Cook Pros is an Indian takeaway in London at 29 Strutton Ground, set inside a food court alongside a few other food stalls. The kitchen claims to be the first restaurant in London to launch Tandoori Fried Chicken, which pairs tandoori spices with a crispy fried coating, so the menu suits anyone who wants a fried chicken order built on Indian flavours. Other chicken is cooked in a clay tandoor oven in the shop. The naan is made fresh to order, with the dough prepared and cooked in front of customers, and it goes into the chicken tikka naan wrap. The Mr Tandoor box comes with peri-salted fries and sauces, and combo meals include a drink. Everything is halal, with no pork or alcohol. Shared seating sits right outside the stall.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return most for the combo platter, which diners describe as a big portion of biryani, wings, prawns, a burger, rice and chips with sauce and a drink, and several call it a steal. The chicken tikka wrap on freshly made naan comes close behind, with reviewers praising soft, juicy chicken that is not overcooked. The chicken tikka biryani and a tandoori chicken rice bowl also earn praise, and one reviewer singles out the peri salted fries and signature sauces on the Mr Tandoor box. Several note they watched the chicken cooked in the clay oven and the flatbreads prepared fresh in front of them, and call the staff friendly, with the owner adding free mango juice to one lunch. The one caveat is location: reviewers say the stall is tucked inside a small food court, can be hard to find, and sits in a cramped area that one expects to be difficult when busy. Shared seating sits right outside, and one diner could not finish the combo.

“The food here was absolutely phenomenal! I got the chicken tikka wrap and it is by far the best wrap I’ve ever had. The naan was made fresh right there and it was full of many delicious sauces. The service was exceptional and the chef/owner was very kind and friendly, and even included free mango juice with our lunch. Would 100% recommend!”

“Really nice little spot. The chicken tikka biryani was so good and definitely worth ordering. It's tucked away inside a building with a few other food stalls, a bit like a small food court, and there's shared seating right outside. The staff were lovely, service was quick, and overall it's well worth checking out if you're in the area.”

“✨ Highly recommend ✨ Today I visited Mr tandoor with expectations of an average meal but I was able to see and taste the freshness from the tandoor chicken that is cooked in the clay oven in shop. The independently owned takeaway spot is hidden in a food court in the middle of the road. The meal I tasted was very authentic Indian cuisine with a good amount of protein and carbs and plenty of flavour with the spices not being too hot but still a warm and hearty meal. I also believe that the food is halal too. I definitely recommend trying the foods especially after gym session. I will be returning in the future to experience the other dishes in the menu especially the tandoor. See you soon Mr Tandoor ✨”

“I work in an office locally to this place. I usually come to the food court for Shahs halal but it wasn't there today, I saw a poster for this place outside and gave it a go off a whim and I'm so happy I did! Got a chicken tikka nan wrap and it was beautiful. Amazing flavours and soft juicy chicken not burned and overcooked. Great quality and freshly made naan to order. It is also very reasonably priced for the area and some other venders here. This is now my new go to spot, I will definitely be coming here again for my lunches cant wait to try the rest of the dishes. Food 10/10. Only criticism I can say is that it could be difficult to find unless you know its in the foodhub already. It is quite a cramped area so could be difficult during busy periods so Mr Tandoor deserves a much bigger plot! See you soon bro 🔥”
