About Venn Street Records

Venn Street Records is a live music bar in London at 78 Venn St, where bands play in a small room with music-themed decor and red-light design. The menu runs to 34 dishes, set out as a diner menu with pizza deals, and pizza is served alongside the cocktails. The drinks list leans heavily on cocktails, including Tommy's Margarita and the Mango & Passionfruit Daiquiri, while the Camden Hells Beer Bucket suits a table sharing beer. Non-alcoholic drinks sit on the list next to the alcoholic ones. A weekday happy hour brings a 2 for 1 cocktail offer. Bouncers work the door, and the bar can have a wait when it fills up.

Customer Review Summary

Cocktails are the most frequent draw, with reviewers describing an extensive list of strong, flavourful drinks, nonalcoholic options too, and a happy hour across a huge range of them, which one reviewer caught as a 2 for 1 on weekdays. Live music comes close behind, with bands called energetic and fun, a good mixed playlist, and music loud enough at points for dancing. Pizza earns repeated praise, one reviewer citing a crispy crust and fresh toppings. Staff are called friendly and on the ball, though one reviewer notes a bit of a wait when it gets very busy, and another says the toilets were clean before 10pm but imagines they were not once the crowd arrived. One reviewer reports that a man was aggressive toward a woman at the outside tables for around 8 minutes, and that after stepping in, the bouncers asked the reviewer, not the man, to calm down. Others praise the outdoor seating for its European feel, and heat lamps kept a chilly evening comfortable.

“The music was great however I was sat outside and a man was being very aggressive towards a woman and saying some absolutely deplorable things for around 8 minutes. I then stepped in and said he shouldn’t be saying this. At this point I was asked by the bouncers to calm down despite the fact the man who was being aggressive and threatening violence was not asked to calm down. I will never come here or to any ‘records’ again. Treat women better and protect women better. I am disgusted”

“Lovely atmosphere! Felt very European and international with the outdoor seating area. I forgot I was in London for an hour or so haha (which is always a good thing 😉) The staff was also very friendly and they make amazing drinks, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic :)”

“My friend had a booking for their other site in Clapham, however we missed our time slot there and were able to get rescheduled here, we both ordered pizza but my first slice was so good I forgot to take any pictures of the food. It's a small venue inside, the staff are friendly and very helpful, the music was cool and the drinks were tasty drinks. Would definitely return again.”

“Excellent atmosphere, even better happy hour on a huge range of cocktails. Can be a bit of a wait when it’s very busy but staff are always on the ball. Pizza is great but I can’t remember where it’s from!”

Definitely a spot I’d recommend to anyone looking for great drinks and a lively atmosphere. 🤩”
