Customer Review Summary
The Sunday roast draws the most praise, with diners singling out a shared whole roast chicken that was juicy, tender and packed with flavour, a pork and lamb roast where the crackling was perfect, and a vegetarian Wellington with gravy and roast potatoes that one reviewer found delicious. Close behind are the starters and the daily changing menu, including croquettes, beef tartare, fried chicken, a juicy pork chop and sticky toffee pudding. A Farm to Fork lamb evening drew praise for glazed lamb tongue, confit shoulder and generous wine pours. Servers are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive, and one waiter's recommendation helped an overwhelmed diner choose. The main complaint concerns the sharing platter, which one reviewer found disappointing, with very small portions of only two pieces each of beef, pork and lamb. Another, dining alone, felt stared at by other diners, and one describes the room as tight with a busy bar. One reviewer suggests reserving for Tuesday Pie Night. For a girlfriend's birthday, staff brought a special glass of Prosecco and a candlelit dessert.

“Came here for the Tuesday Pie Night while visiting my sister in Clapham. Funnily enough, we didn’t even order a pie… all the starters looked really good so we got one of each and wine on tap to share. The beef tartare and fried chicken was our favorites. We do, though, recommend making a reservation if you plan on going on a Tuesday night”

“Good Sunday roast, nice starters but the sharing platter was disappointing. Very small portions for the price only 2 pieces each of beef, pork and lamb. Expected much more. Overall, nice food and good sticky toffee pudding.”

“I was served by the fabulous Katie, who was excellent, from the food recommendations to the great drink ideas. The service is five star quality, and having recently gone to a Michelin star restaurant, I have to say the service and food was much better. I had the tempura for starters, with a creamy dip. It was so delicious. I did not want to stop eating it. Main course was the vegetarian roast. One word- delicious!!! For a vegetarian roast, one of the biggest challenges is creating the same sense of indulgence that a good beef or lamb roast gives. The Wellington provided the richness, the Yorkshire gave the texture, and the gravy tied it all together, with the roast potatoes. The dessert was sticky toffee pudding. It was so decadently delicious that I kept licking pudding and ice cream of my spoon. In three words - I loved it!!! I cannot wait to go back and visit. It is tight in there with a busy bar, so I am not sure about wheel chair or disability access, however they have seats outside, which may help. The only reason I did not give five stars for atmosphere is that as a single diner, I was being stared at quite a lot by other diners, and usually I am able to ignore it, but this time, it felt a bit tad intrusive. However, this is not the fault of this fine dining establishment and is probably an encouragement for me to add a plus one, next time I visit. Did I mention that they serve filtered water at £1.50 instead of bottled mineral water, which is refillable, and helps sustainability & proceeds go to charity. I stand overly impressed.”

“We stopped by The Pig's Head for their Sunday roast and shared the whole roast chicken. Honestly, it was great from start to finish. The chicken was cooked perfectly juicy, tender, and packed with flavour and all the roast trimmings were just as tasty. What really stood out was the service. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome the whole time. You can tell the team genuinely cares about what they do. A fantastic Sunday roast in a lovely atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back when we are next in London and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a great roast in London.”

“We recently attended their Farm to Fork event consisting of a four course lamb menu with wine pairing and a welcome cocktail. The event was very well run, with the owner, sommelier and farmer speaking about the food and wine. The food was spectacular, inventive and well executed by the kitchen. Highlights were the glazed lamb tongue, confit shoulder and sheep’s curd cheesecake. There is obvious skill and expertise in this kitchen. The wine pouring was extremely generous and we probably had a bottle of wine each by the end of the evening so it was very good value and made for a pleasant walk home! Service was top notch with friendly and professional servers. Overall, a fun, satisfying evening for everyone, exceeded all our expectations and can’t wait to try their regular menu.”
