About The Running Horse
The Running Horse is a pub in London on Aldgate East, with a restaurant menu, live music on the premises and a bottomless brunch. The drinks list pairs a craft beer range with other ales, beers and wines, so the bar covers more than one taste. The kitchen serves chicken strips and nachos, along with steak, and the sauce for the steak comes separately. The interior is modern and spacious. Guests order, pay and have their tables cleared at the counter. The pub is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the food, with the chicken strips and the nachos named as standouts, and a steak described as beautifully cooked. Close behind is the staff, whom several call friendly, welcoming and helpful, with one host praised for handling a bottomless brunch for a large group. Diners also like the ales, the beer and wine selection, the live music, and the dog friendly atmosphere, and one mentions cooling air con on a hot day. Drinks are described as poured strong and generously, though one reviewer found the porn star martini not the best. The criticism is sharper in two reviews. One calls the place neither a pub nor a restaurant, with bad acoustics, pop music and a pint that felt expensive. Another says service is slow and that every task, from ordering and paying to clearing the table, means going to the counter, ending with a bin bag offered when they asked for a takeaway bag. One reviewer was able to swap ice cream for custard with dessert.

“Great pub that blends traditional character with a modern, spacious feel. The excellent air con was a real bonus on one of the hottest days in London. Our team thoroughly enjoyed the drinks and atmosphere, especially the live music – the guitarist performing that evening was incredibly talented. A special thank you to Jess, Gerry, and Alex for their friendly, attentive, and fabulous service. They helped make our visit a truly enjoyable experience. We look forward to coming back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“Unfortunately, I must disagree with other reviewers. The place has no personality, trying to be pretentious. It's one of these new, modern style places which is neither a pub nor a restaurant. The staff are mostly young, student looking with clearly no classic pub/bar experience. They play bad pop music that tageers or bankers may like, hard to speak inside due to bad acoustics. Drink is quite expensive, I think it was about 8 quid a pint.”

“The food is great. However, the service is slow, and you have to go to the counter every time to clean the table, to order, to pay, and even to ask for a bag for takeaway. The guy offered me a bin bag, lol.”
