About The Queen's Head
The Queen's Head is a Victorian pub at 66 Acton St in London, near King's Cross and just off Gray's Inn Road. It hosts free live music each week in the evening, in a historic interior with an open fire where people play cards. The bar pours cask ales and beers alongside cider, wine, whisky and other spirits. The pub is listed in the Good Beer Guide, and CAMRA members get a 10% discount. The kitchen sends out bar snacks and cheese and meat boards, including a pork pie with piccalilli. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return above all for the ales and beer selection, with Trinity Real Ale singled out as really, really nice and cider praised alongside it. One visitor loved the pork pie with piccalilli, and another noted a discount for CAMRA members. Several describe the interior as historic and characterful, with a roaring fire and people playing cards, and a few call the staff welcoming and friendly. Some mention a good buzz that stays calm, and one visitor was glad to see the LGBTQ+ safe space listing. Prices strike a few as reasonable for London, one reporting a pint at a fraction of the expected cost. The main drawback is crowding. One group near Christmas had to move several times for big pre-booked tables, though staff helped find them another spot, and a midweek visitor found it very busy. Another arrived for an open mic night that was no longer running, and one found only two cask ales on. Reviewers also point to the short walk from King's Cross as a plus.

“Excellent pub - v strong range of ales and welcoming service. A good buzz but not too busy. Just a few mins walk from King's Cross but you wouldn't know it.”

“Didn't have food here but the pint of Trinity Real Ale is absolutely delicious. I'll be honest, I'm a bit of a prick when it comes to Ale - it's either good or it's not, and this is really, really nice beer! I expected to be paying 7 quid a pint, but SOMEHOW my pint was £3.60. That's unheard of in London in my experience. This place is an absolute diamond in the rough - get here! You won't be sorry!”

“Just off the Gray’s Inn Road this Good Beer Guide entry is well worth a visit. Only the 2 cask ales on when I called in but the choice was good and there’s a 10% discount for CAMRA members.”
