About The Nags Head
The Nags Head is an independent pub in London at 53 Kinnerton St, with a sunken bar down a few stairs and a split-level layout. Walls and shelves are covered in bric-a-brac and memorabilia, so there is plenty to look at while you drink. Nooks and corners provide places to sit with a drink in hand. The bar pours beers and real ales, and old classic tunes play in the background, including 60s hits and Sinatra. Phone calls are not allowed inside.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the quirky character of this Belgravia backstreet pub, from the split-level layout with a sunken bar and a front bar set lower than standing customers, to walls crammed with bric-a-brac and nostalgic memorabilia. Close behind are the cosy corners and tight staircases, plus the soundtrack of Sinatra, 60s hits and old classic tunes. Several describe it as a proper, independent boozer, and one mentions a no phones rule. The owner's reputation for rudeness comes up, though a few found him good company and the bar staff friendly. The main criticisms are a very limited choice of ales, mostly ones common in the area, a pricey pint, and gas fires that give off little heat despite an original-looking fireplace. One visitor found it empty on a wet Monday night, and another could not find a menu. One reviewer was given a free birthday shot by the woman behind the bar.

“A classic pub, truly the real deal, no frills, no fuss, a boozer through and through. No phone calls allowed, no insta nonsense. A proper pint in a proper place. A truly independent pub is hard to find in London and this one is excellent”

“Don’t listen to these jokers and Paul with his 28st missus leaving one star reviews, this is a cracking, quirky English backstreet pub with character, tight staircases, cosy drinking nooks and history abound. Take a few mins out of your day and sit back with a pint or three and enjoy the vibe.”

“Had a great time visiting this cosy pub. The staff were so friendly, great old classic tunes playing and the pub is full of character and old charm. Beautiful flowers outside too. Even given a free shot for my birthday from the lovely lady behind the bar ☺️ Loved it! Thank you.”

“Charming and full of character, this hidden jem is how pubs should be. Quirky with cosy corners to sink into.. with nostalgic memorabilia everywhere. The only downside is the very limited choice of ales.. and what they do have on tap is common is the area. Come on guys, mix it up a bit!”
