About Mandarin Bar
Mandarin Bar is a bar in London at 66 Knightsbridge, set inside the Mandarin Oriental hotel. Adam D. Tihany designed the room around a rectangular catwalk-style bar, with suspended copper glass light fixtures and a gold geometric patterned frosted glass wall behind it. The cocktail list takes its cues from the plants and trees of neighbouring Hyde Park, including the Silver Birch and the Rose Champagne Cocktail, with a Mandarin Negroni alongside. Vintage and non-vintage champagnes, wines, spirits and soft drinks complete the drinks list. Cocktails come with complimentary truffle-flavoured mixed nuts and green olives, and tuna tacos are among the bar snacks. The team takes coats and bags when guests sit down. The bar is open daily, and afternoon tea is served in a separate room.

Customer Review Summary
Cocktails draw the most mentions, with the lychee Martini, classic Negroni, cosmo 75, a drink called Yang and the signature Mandarin Negroni all described as delicious or lovely. One reviewer found a signature cocktail fun but small and suggests choosing a signature for the extra dramatic flair. Service comes close behind, repeatedly called friendly and attentive, with staff offering to take coats and bags and helping a guest charge a phone. Food gets mixed notes. Reviewers praise the meat fruit, the tuna tacos (though only four small pieces) and a Caesar salad with grilled prawns and smoked anchovies. One reviewer found the Korean chicken overcooked and under-seasoned, the chips crisp but tasteless, and the mushroom ketchup without any mushroom flavour. One finds the room dark and the decor in need of work, and another found the bar packed and loud on Christmas Day. Truffle flavoured mixed nuts and green olives arrive with the cocktails at no charge.

“This review is focused on the rooftop lounge at The Mandarin Oriental Mayfair - namely The A-Bar / Hannover Bar - an elegant lounge, with attentive service, and exclusive feel to access the lounge. The live DJ was an unexpected surprise that provided an added touch of sophistication - as the DJ was equally presentable and set the atmosphere for the lounge experience. The DJ’s music was a lively mix of house-jazz that kept the atmosphere eclectic. We were able to have an enjoyable conversation without having to compete with the music. Very well done. The food was perfect for what we were seeking - nibble bites … and the drinks prepared specifically to our particular requests. The Bar can only be described as understated elegance, accompanied by impeccable service. Top marks all the way around - especially to the DJ.”

“The service was amazing. They offered to take our coats and bags when we sat down. We ordered the cosmo 75 and it was lovely. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was pleasant. Would definitely recommend getting drinks here.”

“The iconic Mandarin Bar has re-opened its doors with a fresh new look by Adam D. Tihany and innovative cocktail list. With a contemporary design and buzzing atmosphere, the Mandarin Bar is one of London's most popular nightspots. A series of signature cocktails, inspired by the plants and trees found in neighbouring Hyde Park, such as the Silver Birch or Rose Champagne Cocktail are now offered alongside a choice of vintage and non-vintage champagnes and wines, spirits and soft drinks.
