Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often describe the pub as a pit stop before a coach or train from Victoria, and the friendly, welcoming staff are the draw they raise most. Several say they were greeted warmly after a long journey, and one calls the service superb. Food comes second. One reviewer praises a Sunday roast that came out quickly, though with not enough gravy, while another had fish and chips with the fish cooked to perfection but the chips a little too crispy. A breakfast stop was called reasonable, with one wish that a cup of tea were included. Reviewers also mention plenty of seating inside and outside, a dark interior with room for a quiet chat, tables cleaned often, and a good choice of beers. The one clear complaint comes from a 2-star reviewer who found the service terrible, describing a bearded member of staff who looked unhappy and seemed to question their orders. That reviewer said earlier visits had been great and would not return. Another reviewer mentions being able to charge a phone while waiting for the coach.

“The staff here are always an absolute delight. Thomas gave me a really warm welcome when I got off the coach after an arduous journey, the service and environment was a breath of fresh air amist the chaos of travelling in London. Nice pit stop. Stop and take a breath before continuing to the chaos..”

“Nice place, stopped here for breakfast on a split coach journey. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, breakfast was reasonable, London prices unfortunately, would prefer they included a cup of tea. Still it did it's job, nice pub though. Would return for a drink next time.”

“I ve been thinking much before I ve decided to leave a review & reading the latest ones,it seems that other people have experienced something similar to what we did; decent food, drinks were ok but the service has been terrible, there's a member of staff, the bearded, chubby guy, Terry I think is his name! He seemed that he doesn't want to be there ,looked unhappy , grumpy ,even we ve had the feeling that he's questioning our orders , being quite rude I think ! Anyway ... there are other good pubs/ restaurants in the area & I think we wouldn't return! That's a shame cause everytime we ve been here before service has been great!”
