About The Forester, Ealing
The Forester, Ealing is a Grade II listed Edwardian pub in London at 2 Leighton Road, with a Thai kitchen that runs during the week. The menu includes pad Thai and duck pad see ewe, with wings and dumplings as starters, and a carvery takes over on the other days. Inside, a small bar, a large L-shaped bar and a dining area give the pub several separate places to settle. Fuller's beers are served on both cask and keg, including Fuller's ESB, alongside a couple of craft choices. Football and other live sport show on the TVs, and dogs are welcome. For groups, an upstairs room and a smaller bar can be booked for events and parties.

Customer Review Summary
Thai food draws the most praise, with reviewers calling it authentic and singling out the pad Thai, the duck pad see ew, and starters of wings and dumplings. The Sunday roast comes close behind, described as unreal. The cask and keg beers, including a winter-only vintage ale, are called well kept, and the bar staff are described as knowledgeable about them. Reviewers also mention a large garden with covered areas and a heritage interior with several bars. Most call the staff friendly. One organiser of a party for 50 in the upstairs room praised flexible service on food and extra drinks, and another held a friend's ceremony there. Food is called good value, though one reviewer finds the drinks slightly pricey. The main complaint comes from a busy World Cup match, where one customer waited a long time for a bag of nuts and one drink, felt skipped in the queue, and said the nuts were thrown onto the bar and the drink spilled. Another visitor noticed Sunday lunches coming out looking very good.

“I organised a party here for 50 people and I absolutely have to highlight that the process was amazing from start to finish. Booking was simple, I was able to call up and amend/add to the booking by speaking to someone very easily, they had good advice and recommendations for numbers etc. On the night, the upstairs room was even more gorgeous than I remembered - very characterful, good sound system to plug into and the chairs and tables were great and easy to arrange to suit the occasion. The MOST important thing for me though was the ABSOLUTELY PERFECT service from the set up to the end of the night from every member of staff involved. Friendly, available, not overbearing, but present and so flexible in terms of when food would be served to additional drinks etc. All the guests also commented on how delicious the food was. I honestly am so delighted, the evening couldn’t have gone better and this is really thanks to the excellent staff at the Forester. Strongly recommend!”

“The food is incredible- authentic Thai food. Then on Sunday they do a roast, which is unreal! 11/10 for all the food. The staff are super friendly (especially the waiters and cooks) and a beautiful pub on the inside and outside. Would recommend it to anyone.”

“The bar staffs were unfriendly and one particular lady was in fact very rude. We went there for England-Norway World Cup game. While we appreciate it’s busy, the staff treated me so unfairly. Someone just cut in front of me and she didn’t even ask who cane first. I had to wait for 15 mins just to buy one bag of nut and one drink because the rude lady in front of me order 10 glasses of drinks. Then when it’s my turn, I told the bar staff (blonde/reddish hair, explaining so the manager can address this issue) I was actually there first. Instead of having empathy and say sorry like most staffs I’ve been served too in other places, she shook her head, rolled her eyes and blamed me for not shouting. Well, it was very loud and I did spoke up. She then throw the pack of cashew on the bar (like she couldn’t careless to serve) and the drink I ordered was spilled all over. You need to understand everyone is different and you can’t expect someone from different country or different background will be as loud as you. You don’t treat me with respect at all. This place is not inclusive especially for people who don’t like to shout at other people. I hope the management will be able to treat this matter seriously.”

“Great way to finish my UK holiday with a pint of the classic Fullers ESB, £6.30 circa 280 THB- it was superb. A huge ornate multi room pub that shows the Premier league games with commentary. Enjoyed the Man U v Liverpool game to accompany my pint. Didn't eat but noticed the Sunday lunches coming out looked very good. Good service and friendly locals, an excellent pub”
