Quick info
About The George & Dragon
The George & Dragon is a pub in London at 183 High St, set inside a hotel tavern and serving Thai dishes alongside British pub dishes. The Thai side of the menu includes Nam Tok Moo, a marinated pork dish, and green curry. Tuesdays and Wednesdays pair a Thai curry with a beer deal. The bar runs rotating keg and cask taps for craft beer, with Litovel lager among the pours, and copper pipes and distillery equipment line the counter. A pool table, leather couches and framed photos fill the room. Live music plays on weekends, including Sunday sessions, and Thursday is jazz night. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the Thai food, with the green curry, the Thai chicken bites and the Nam Tok Moo marinated pork named as favourites, and one calling it excellent value. Close behind is the beer, described as a craft selection with rotating keg and cask options, and one reviewer pairs the chicken bites with Litovel lager. Several mention live music, including Sunday sessions, weekend jam sessions and a Thursday jazz night, along with a traditional interior with copper pipes and distillery equipment at the bar. Staff are called friendly in several reviews, and one mentions a Tuesday and Wednesday curry and beer deal. The criticism is sharper but less common. One reviewer calls the bar staff miserable and unwelcoming, with no hello or thank you, and says the front bar has been replaced by a coffee bar setup. Another found only about five people in on a Friday night with no live band, and says the menu listed online is out of date and prices run higher than shown. That same reviewer would return for the food but not for a night out, and took most of a glass of wine home.

“Really nice boozer. But the star was the Thai food. I know Thai food, and this is excellent. I've had much worse for twice the price in other 'Thai' restaurants. Super value for money and very friendly staff. Outstanding!”

“Hidden gem tucked away in Acton! Great craft beer selection and friendly service. Lovely traditional pub which is welcoming and modern at the same time.”

“Historical venue, varied events and tantalizing food menu...but the star attraction beside the Thursday Jazz nite is the choices of beer and now having tasted some of the Thai dishes..I can recommend the beautifully prepared and presented food. Especially my favourite food to date, the Thai chicken bites and Litovel lager. Highly recommend this venue.”

“Great drinks selection, nice atmosphere. Will be back to try the Thai food.”

“I had a delicious green curry with a craft beer, amongst a unique surrounding of copper pipes and distillery equipment at the bar. There is live music which creates a great atmosphere in the old architectural interior of this unique pub where The Who started their career, if I'm not mistaken. One of the best in Acton in my view.”
