Customer Review Summary
The enormous beer garden is what diners raise most, with a kids' play area and climbing frame, outdoor ping pong, covered seating under tents, and huts that stayed cosy and warm in the rain. Close behind is the food, which one reviewer calls beyond pub grub, with large portions. Reviewers name the fish and chips, the seafood pie, loaded chips with feta dip, and an Easter Sunday roast with extra gravy, alongside Guinness, beers and bottled ciders. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and attentive. One reviewer praises the help given with a baby shower when heavy rain hit, and another held a wedding reception in the private room. The caveats are modest but specific. One reviewer finds service and drink selection hit and miss and had to ask several times for cutlery in the garden, and another found the kids' menu mac n cheese not good and the Cumberland sausage too herby. One reviewer's dog was given a water bowl, a blanket and a special treat.

“This place is absolutely brilliant The food was great. Absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was so welcoming and the customer service 2nd to none. I've been driving past it for over 30yrs and never once realised that this gem of a place was hiding in this suburban neighborhood. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's one of the best places I've had the pleasure dining at. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to any visitors.”

“A really very beautiful venue with stylish and funky decor inside and an absolute massive outdoor garden with everything from covered seating under massive swanky tents to classic beer garden benches. Play area & ping pong for the kids. Friendly, helpful staff, a great selection of beers and nice pub grub. I didn't have the fish & chips but wish I had as it looked great! Looks like they do events like Shakespeare in the garden too. Would definitely return and wish I had a local like this.”

“Overall a beautiful pub but consistency is needed. Service can be hit and miss depending on the day, and drink selection the same. Food is generally quite good but if you’re in the garden, be prepared to ask for things several times… like cutlery!”

“Many thanks for an excellent Easter Sunday roast lunch and extra gravy yesterday! The high staff morale and low staff turnover are what particularly make this a special place.”

“I really enjoyed the garden! I came here with my aunt and was really surprised how big and nicely decorated it was. The staff were really nice and attentive. We got the loaded chips and the feta dip. We really loved both of them and would highly recommend.”
