Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the welcoming, friendly staff and the family-friendly, local feel, with several describing a pub where adults and children both feel comfortable. Food and drink follow close behind: bacon fries, real ales, a Bee Sting cider and Guinness Zero get named, one reviewer calls the pint great, and another says the chefs deliver good food every time. One group pre-ordered a Sunday meal, which arrived ten minutes after opening so they could make a flight, and a father's day meal drew similar praise. A comedy night turned the restaurant into an intimate mini theatre and left one audience with aching ribs. The caveats centre on value and vegetarian food. One diner found the only vegetarian main, a squash ravioli, flavourless and tiny, and the sticky toffee pudding dry with a sparse sauce, leaving them hungry. Another called the wine good but overpriced, and a third found the pint a bit punchy on price. One reviewer suggested repainting gaps in the paintwork and replacing old windows.

“This is my second time visiting this lovely pub, and I’ve had a great experience both times. The first time, I came on my own for a meal and really enjoyed it. Yesterday, I came with the little girl I look after, who is four, and we had some chips and juice while waiting for her little brother to finish his class. The atmosphere is so welcoming and family-friendly, and everyone is genuinely warm and friendly. It’s the perfect local pub for families, where both adults and children feel comfortable and welcome. I’m really glad to have found this lovely place and will definitely be coming back!”

“We (9 of us) had to get to Heathrow by 13.30 on a Sunday morning. By booking and pre ordering, the food was served 10 minutes after opening (i.e. 12.10) which we thought was brilliantly helpful! Staff were wonderful, the venue is delightfully decorated and the food was good!”

“When your favourite pub does a comedy night you got to approach it with optimism.,... But comedy is difficult and we have all seen performers that don't make us laugh or worse we feel sorry for... No fear last night, the Plough presented a top night, so much so, we left with aching ribs. Slickly Converting the restaurant into a minl theatre gave the venue an intimate "in your face" feel. We were all grateful to the two heavily pregnant ladies (due next week!!) who sat right in the front row and took all the incoming fire from the comedians especially the MC, David Lewis, who was truly excellent. David is up there with the best with audience engagement and acerbic put downs. Brilliantly quick and could pivot the punchline effortlessly. Followed by Jon Lewis, with his music and patter... Truly excellent. I'm still giggling at the "body of Christ" routine. And the novel Hasan Al Habib.... The amusing Arab.,.. who was utterly masterly at extracting humour from the Muslims perspective on life in the UK. To the ever excellent Plough, great night, more comedy please.”

“Just watched England beat Norway 2-1... so may be biased! 😏 Great pub, lovely staff, and served: 1. Bee sting - a great cider - first half 2. Real ales ' one that went down a treat (during a tense second half) 😋 3. Guinness Zero - brought it home! Not to mention Bacon Fries, and friendly, attentive bar staff. 😁 Only recommendations are to hire a painter to fill in some of the gaps in paintwork (e.g. on the radiators). Also to get some new windows - they looked 1970s style windows (that said: work out if it's worth it given Labour's tax hikes). Great pub, and glad I walked a literal extra mile to get there. ✌️”
