Customer Review Summary
Sunday lunch draws the most mentions, with reviewers calling the roast beef superb and the roast authentic, served to a very local clientele. Close behind are fish and chips and scotch eggs, the latter praised for a tasty parsley sauce even though the egg and meat were called just okay. One diner singled out a dipping steak with chimichurri, and another found the broccoli surprisingly tender beside calamari described as pretty good. Service earns repeated praise, with staff described as welcoming, funny, patient and energetic, and one server accommodating a guest on the terrace. The complaints are practical. One party arrived on a Sunday to find the roast options sold out and settled for scotch eggs and fish and chips. Another requested a high chair on their booking, saw it given to another table without a word, and found the food decent but nothing standout. Evenings get very busy, and one solo diner who ordered at the bar with a table number was kindly led upstairs to a seat.

“Good atmosphere and location. Really close to King’s Cross and very busy. Frustratingly, we requested a high chair on our booking but this was ignored and was given to another table. Understandable that a pub doesn’t have ample but we would’ve appreciated being told one wasn’t available so we could have chosen an alternative venue. Food was decent but nothing standout.”

“Good for a quick snack dinner. There were a lot of people in the evening, but there are also upstair seats. After finding a table, you can order at tbe bar and tell them the table number. I was on myself so they kindly led my way upstair together. I only got some snack food. I tried the Scotch egg, calamari, and broccoli. The brocolli was surprisingly good and tender, just right and refreshing witb Scotch eggs. The calamari was pretty good and expected. The Scotch eggs were fine. The eggs and meat themselves were just okay but the sauce was tasty with parsley and other flavors.”
