Customer Review Summary
Diners most often point to the staff and the quick, friendly drink service at this Soho pub, with several noting full glasses and short waits for pints of Guinness, wine and tequila shots. The food comes close behind, and reviewers single out the seabass, with others calling the pub meals great and the prices reasonable. Upstairs gets a mention as a classier spot, though one reviewer notes it seats only those ordering meals. Reviewers also describe a nice buzz inside, pub games, and a wedding welcome event given its own section of the bar. The caveats are specific. One reviewer was told a reserved table was "round there" and could not find it, and had to ask for pints to be served as pints after twice getting an inch of head. Another was disappointed that a bar advertising gin had no cucumber for a gin serve. One reviewer praised how a waitress offered recommendations based on their tastes in food and drinks.

“Stopped in here on the way to see a show in the Piccadilli Theatre. The staff are very attentive nd polite, and the food is great. So much so that we're coming back here for dinner after the show. Highly recommended.”

“You put up a big sign that says 'Gin Bar', you put Hendrick's on the menu, but you can't even manage to have a basic cucumber in the house? That is amateur hour. No matter how good the atmosphere is, if your service and execution fail at such a fundamental level, the rest is just cheap makeup. If you're going to call yourself a gin bar and charge for premium bottles, you need to know how to serve them properly. Huge disappointment.”

“We hosted our wedding welcome event at The Crown, and it could not have been more perfect. From the start, the management and staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. They gave us a dedicated section of the bar, which made it easy for all of our guests to mix, mingle, and get to know each other in a relaxed, comfortable space. The service was exceptional all evening—no one ever had an empty glass, and everything flowed effortlessly. Our guests (especially those visiting from abroad) absolutely loved the pub—the atmosphere, the energy, and that classic London charm. A huge thank you to The Crown for helping us kick off our wedding weekend in such a memorable way. It’s a night we’ll always remember.”

“The Crown on Brewer Street is an excellent pub that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. The staff are attentive, friendly, and impressively quick when it comes to serving drinks — a quality that is often overlooked but makes a real difference to the overall experience. The drinks selection is extensive, offering plenty of options to suit all tastes. If you're looking for the best seat in the house, head upstairs — the seating area there is a cut above and well worth seeking out. The atmosphere is fantastic, with exactly the kind of energy you want from a great British pub. The Crown has firmly earned its place as my go-to pub whenever I find myself in the area, and I look forward to returning.”
