About The Coach House

The Coach House is a Victorian pub on Oxendon St in London, with an upstairs room that hosts live stand-up comedy. The kitchen serves a Sunday roast with roast beef, lamb shank or pork, plus Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes. Share platters are on the menu too, including a ploughman's and a pub classics platter. Many TVs and screens show football and golf, and a match day menu features sausage and mash and shredded chicken. Seating is split between the upstairs and downstairs areas. Customer Review Summary

Sunday roast draws the most mentions, with diners praising roast beef and lamb shank dinners, the Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and a red wine gravy, and one noting the kitchen was attentive to food allergies. Close behind is watching sport, with plenty of screens for football and golf, a match day menu, and sausage and mash, shredded chicken and a chicken and cheese pie called delicious. Several come before a theatre show and share a ploughman's or pub classics platter, though one found the platter overpriced. Complaints are specific: one Sunday diner found the carrots and peas practically raw, the crackling oily and too hard to bite, and the pork and mash dry, while another said the pork belly bites were merely fried lardons. Service is widely praised, including a waitress who immediately swapped fish and chips for the ciabatta fish sandwich a table had ordered.

“We went for Sunday lunch, and it was so quiet we were initially a. bit concerned it would be nice. It's in the heart of Piccadilly and so convenient, but down a very quiet street. We had a roast beef and a lamb shank Sunday dinner - both were delicious. Great Yorkshires, good roast potatoes. Special mention for the lamb shank red wine gravy - lovely! Very reasonably priced.”

“Pre theatre food & drink, found the coach house on google maps as was close to theatre also bonus they use MIXR app. We shared 2 platters - ploughman’s and pub classics. The food came up piping hot and very fresh it was delicious and we was extremely happy with our choice. All staff were very helpful and kept checking we were ok and asking if we needed anything more drinks etc. We were seated downstairs as upstairs was busy, we were the only people down there, this wasn’t an issue as we had pick of the seats and there’s was plenty of screens to watch the golf. A great start to our evening thank you to all staff”

“Do not eat here unless you fancy getting scammed, I'm giving it two starts purely so it doesn't feel like 1 star would look like a scorned customer. Service was great. Food left everything to desire. My pork belly bites were merely lardons, fried, with some spring onions and chillis. Great effort (not). Sausage roll served with teriyaki lacks any form of cohesive thought. Nachos were good according to my friends, but how hard is it to microwave Doritos? Must do better”

“Had my first Sunday Roast at The Coach House! Food was excellent, service was fantastic and very friendly! Never felt rushed. They were also very attentive to my food allergies, which I appreciated! Great location too! Absolutely recommend!”

“Went for champions league final. Great atmosphere. Many screens for football. They got a football match day menu. Sausage & mash and shredded chicken are both delicious. Asahi and Guinness are good, slightly pricy but understandable as it is Central London. May consider returning for World Cup.”
