Customer Review Summary

Beer is the most common draw, with reviewers praising perfect draft beers and a decent choice of ale and lager for an after-work pint or a lunch break. Close behind is the food, with fish and chips called delicious and a Sunday roast described as plentiful, alongside basic pub fare like baguettes, pie and chips. Reviewers describe a small, traditional pub near Piccadilly with an old boozer feel, friendly staff, reasonable prices, outside seating and a mixed crowd of locals and tourists. The complaints are specific. The pub can be cramped and busy when lunchtime fills it, and one reviewer watched staff talk to one another while customers waited to pay. Another found the cocktails bad, with a spritz practically water and no Negroni on the list, and the wine list is called not so good. One reviewer also reports being assaulted on the premises and says the pub did not call the police. One family's Sunday roast ended with apple crumble served with custard instead of ice-cream.

“I visited this pub yesterday and was brutally assaulted while on the premises. I sustained injuries and was bleeding significantly afterwards. What I found particularly disturbing was the way the situation was handled. Despite the seriousness of what had happened and the fact that I was visibly injured and bleeding, the police were not called by the pub. I am extremely disappointed and upset by how this incident was dealt with. I would have expected the safety and wellbeing of a customer who had been seriously assaulted to be treated as an immediate priority, including appropriate assistance and contacting the police. This was a frightening and distressing experience, and I would strongly encourage the management to review how serious incidents and injured customers are handled. I hope the pub takes this matter seriously and ensures that appropriate procedures are followed in future.”

“This was an excellent visit for a Sunday roast with the family. The food was really good and plentiful. The dessert, apple crumble, was served with custard instead of the lazy ice-cream option which lots of other establishments seem to do now. The service was excellent 👍 and super attentive even though they were short staffed 10/10”
