  “one of the better pubs in chiswick. good for sports, had a lovely outdoor garden & friendly service! drinks are normally priced (don’t forget to use your chiswick calendar card), food is decent.”

  “‘A Kind Word Turns Away Anger’… Was looking for a nice pub on the high road this afternoon for a spot of lunch and popped into this pub. The pub was pretty much empty. A pleasant female staff member suggested, upon my enquiry, that I should order at the bar. I went to the bar to order and a Caucasian male bar staff member barked at me that ‘the menus were on the table’. He spoke to me in a manner that was both unpleasantly aggressive and uncalled for. I asked him if he was ok, and if there was there a reason why he spoke to me in that manner, but was ignored by him. So I walked over to a corner table and picked up a menu and the female staff member came over. I asked her why I was spoken to by the man in such a manner, and asked if he treated all people like me in the same way. Was it one of those establishments? She was a little apologetic. He was not… So, I left and walked 100 yards across the street to the right, to The (very pleasant) Roebuck, where I was greeted so warmly and treated so nicely it would be rude of me not to leave them a glowing review. It would also be rude of me to neglect forewarning future pub goers of this establishment’s possible reception. I don’t plan on ever going back there. In future, if I want a change of my favourite lunch spot (Mali’s cafe, next to Marks and Spencer’s) I will go back to the Roebuck. The moody staff member should remember this biblical saying; "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger". Being pleasant, in a public facing industry, goes a long way.”

  “Proud to call Packhorse & Talbot my local! Every visit has been a great experience. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who make you feel at ease even when it’s busy. The food is solid pub fare, with a good range of options, and everything we've tried so far is something we'd happily order again. It's a great all-round spot for drinks, food, and catching up with friends. It's also an excellent place to watch the World Cup, with a lively atmosphere that makes England games even more enjoyable.”

  “Such nice pub! Lovely back garden with tv to watch sports. We wejt during the day and it was so chill. Would really recommend for some nice drinks with friends. Staff was very nice too!”

  “I want here for lunch on 12/05/26, I ordered Hot Honey BBQ Pulled Pork Beef Burger, where do I start omg it was so delicious full of flavour cooked to perfection it just melted in your mouth every time you take a bite, it did not feel like I had eaten the burger, I demolished the burger in no time at all, I never had a burger like this anywhere at all and I have eaten in a lot of different places and they don’t compare anything to this at all keep up they amazing work, the French fries was nice and hot crispy outside and fluffy inside, we all so ordered Wings & Tenders Combo the chicken wings was cooked perfectly nice and golden and crispy outside and inside was delicious and we did not see any blood at all, the Tenders was delicious and super crispy, the chefs did amazing coking this outstanding food I hope they get the praise they deserve, the young gentlemen who served me was kind, polite and welcoming, I need to come back here and try more food”

  “Unfortunately probably the worst Sunday roast we’ve had in London. Here at the moment at around 2 pm. Boiled and wet cauliflower covered in runny cream, over cooked beef, soggy Yorkshire pudding. Arrived at the pub and noticed the servers don’t even give the table a wipe after cleaning up plates from previous party. Sadly disappointed experience.”

  “Lovely pub in the heart of Chiswick High Street. The food is consistently great, the fish and chips, steak and ale pie, and their special burgers are all delicious, but the Sunday roast really deserves a mention. Amazing quality, loads of vegetables, and very good value for money. The bar staff are always friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. We went on Sunday, enjoyed a fantastic roast, and were able to watch the football at the same time. The atmosphere was relaxed, pleasant and lively enough to enjoy the game, but not too noisy to chat and enjoy the meal. A brilliant local pub with great food, great service, and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommended!”

The layout features a variety of seating options, including cosy booths and communal tables inside for those who enjoy a lively environment. If you prefer some fresh air, there’s also outdoor seating, which is perfect for enjoying your meal while soaking up the sun or catching a game on a nice day. When we arrived, we were greeted with a cosy setting, complete with wooden beams and rustic decor, which made it feel like a home away from home. As we settled in, we appreciated the variety of drink options available. The beer selection featured local brews, which were refreshing and complemented our meals nicely. My partner's wine was also of good quality, adding to our overall enjoyment. For lunch, the menu offered a tempting array of classic pub fare. The steak and chips were lovely; they were cooked exactly to my preference, and the chips were crispy and golden. The burger was equally as nice. Although the patty wasn't grilled, the beef burger itself was juicy and flavorful. The toppings were fresh, and the bun was just the right amount of soft and sturdy. One aspect that added to our experience was the attentive service. The staff were friendly and quick to assist, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. While ordering at the bar can be a minor inconvenience, it provided the opportunity to review the full menu and make our choices at our own pace. Overall, the Packhorse and Talbot Pub is a great choice for a casual lunch with family or friends, especially if you want to catch a game. The combination of quality food, friendly service, and a warm atmosphere makes it a place we'd happily return to.
