Customer Review Summary

Most reviewers come for the location on the upper level of Paddington station, praising it as somewhere to kill time between trains, with a balcony overlooking the concourse and train times shown inside. Food is the next draw: one diner calls the Sunday Duo of Roast with chicken supreme and sirloin of beef some of the best British food in London, while others single out crispy onion rings, triple-cooked chips, a messy but delicious burger, crispy cauliflower bites and a breakfast. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and welcoming, and the beer selection gets several good mentions. The main complaint comes from one reviewer, who says the waitress seemed unsure of the menu, swapped the Caesar salad's anchovies for chicken instead of removing them, and charged extra for it. The same reviewer found the salad's egg undercooked and slimy, though the food arrived quickly. One reviewer notes the pub is always busy, but with so many tables a seat is usually found.

“I really enjoy coming here with my work colleagues. It’s a great place to relax, have a drink and catch up after work. The atmosphere and staff are always welcoming, and it’s location is especially convenient when waiting for the train. Definitely a pub I’m happy to come back to”

“The pub is always busy, but with so many tables you’ll usually find a seat. We sat in the ‘restaurant’ area with table service. The waitress seemed a bit unsure of the menu — she didn’t know you could add mushrooms to the burger, and she swapped the anchovies in the Caesar salad for chicken instead of just removing them, so we ended up paying extra for something we didn’t want. That said, the food came out really quickly and was genuinely tasty. The onion rings were super crispy, the triple-cooked chips were spot on, and the burger was messy but delicious. The only issue with the Caesar salad (apart from the forementioned chicken) was the egg was undercooked with egg white / yolk mixing with the salad giving it an rather off putting slimy taste. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it — a great spot to kill time while waiting for yet another delayed or cancelled train!”

“I love this place. All the staff are very friendly and tentative! Food is very good quality and just what the doctor ordered for any journey! And as it quite clearly says on the sign, You wouldn’t worry how early it is at an airport….why is it any difference at a train station! Agreed! Thank you!!🤙🏻”

“By far some of the best British food I’ve tried in London. It’s Sunday — roast day — and I had the Duo of Roast: chicken supreme and sirloin of beef, with amazing vegetables and sauces. I also tried their crispy cauliflower bites, which were tasty too. The setting is lovely as well — really nice and spacious, with a balcony overlooking Paddington station. A great spot for a proper Sunday roast.”
