  “Had an event on here for my 30th on Saturday 22nd August and I would 100% recommend the venue for location (close to Clapham Common tube stop), preparation and communication but also the friendliness of the staff, who made it such a memorable occasion. The upstairs area is a great setup and my friends and family, who travelled from all over the country to come were very impressed. I also wanted to give a shoutout to Alex for all his help in the build-up (despite me asking a million questions), the upstairs bar staff and the security guard upstairs that evening, who was brilliant with all of our guests (and removing those who pinched our seats for a short while!)”

  “Had brunch with a few friends, for the price, Prosecco was decent and the Apreol Spritiz were good. Once we started our 90 minutes the service was good and they never stopped providing drinks. Been to a few bottomless before where they have waited for you to finish every drop before they gave you another one. So we were very happy with this. We will be back.”

  “⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Perfect Group Hub: Pre-Theatre Magic at No. 32 The Old Town If you’re looking for a spot in Clapham that balances effortless style with genuine hospitality, this is it. We visited last night for a pre-theatre dinner with a large group of 11 (including both adults and teenagers). Service & Flexibility First off, a massive shout-out to the team. Our booking jumped from 8 to 11 people on the day, and they accommodated us without a second thought. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff are incredibly friendly and kept the flow perfect for our 5:30 PM sitting. The Decor: A Visual Treat The interior design here is exquisite. It feels like a high-end, independent neighbourhood home. Upstairs: The roof terrace is a standout, offering views over the Common. even at night, the "urban oasis" vibe is strong. The Design: I loved the mix of reclaimed furniture, soft lighting, and plenty of greenery. It feels airy and modern but still cosy enough for a long dinner. Whether you’re downstairs near the bustling bar or upstairs in the more relaxed dining spaces, every corner is "Instagram-ready." The Food The menu is brilliantly diverse. We had a mix of ages, and everyone left happy. The teenagers found plenty to love, and the children’s menu was a hit for the younger ones. It’s rare to find a place that feels this sophisticated but remains truly family-friendly. The Atmosphere At 5:30 PM, it was the perfect, calm setting for a large group to chat. However, walking back past at 10:30 PM after our show, the place was absolutely buzzing! The energy was infectious; it clearly transforms into a vibrant late-night hotspot. Bonus Recommendation If you’re in the area, definitely head over to the Omnibus Theatre. We saw "Dinner" by Moira Buffini—the performances were stellar. Pairing a meal at No. 32 with a show at the Omnibus makes for a perfect London night out! Highly recommended for groups, families, or anyone wanting a beautiful backdrop for their meal.”

  “Had an absolutely amazing time here celebrating my birthday with a large group of friends (20+ people), and everything exceeded expectations! The venue is beautiful, the atmosphere was incredible, and my friends all loved it too. The live music later in the evening really elevated the experience and made the night feel extra special. Drinks were reasonably priced, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, doing everything they could to make sure I had a fantastic celebration. I would 100% recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!”

  “Such a relaxing place yet full of nice vibes. Perfect whether it's a friday nigth and you want some groove or a relaxed sunday brunch. Great terrace upstairs. Staff all outstanding. Brunch was awesome - huge portions compared to any other brunch places where you get a tiny half sourdough, delicious. I had smashed avo with scrambled eggies and a compari sprits - yuum”

  “Shocking experience, promise worth reading until the end. I had a booking for 22 people for my birthday, which had been confirmed - and prepaid. I did it with a lovely Brazilian manager who was super helpful, choosing a nice long table by the window. Just a few days before, I was told they could no longer accommodate us as planned and instead offered scattered tables / a dark table at the far back - and at a different time. I went there in person to talk to them and question this. First, the Italian manager, when I just said “Hi I would like to talk about my booking…” he rudely said “I can’t talk to you I have work to do” (there was 1 table at the place). Then I finally found Alex, the ‘reservation manager’ - he showed me the place where he could now only fit about half of my group. I suggested just putting the other tables together / adding another table as clearly there was space, but he then said the other tables were “busy”. This made it clear I think that our booking had simply been replaced by others. There was no real attempt to resolve the situation, no flexibility, and no meaningful apology - despite the fact this was a large birthday group that is extremely difficult to relocate at such short notice, and could just ruin my birthday plans with everyone already confirmed. To make matters worse, instead of an apology, I then receive a warning from Alex by email that I would be charged if I didn’t cancel within their timeframe (I asked them to hold the scattered tables reservation whilst I panick and try to find something else), even though they were the ones who changed the terms of the booking. The lack of accountability and just total absence of basic human empathy were genuinely shocking. Cancelling or downgrading a confirmed large booking at such short notice in a city like London - and handling it this way - is simply not acceptable.”

  “No. 32 Old Town is a true gem on Clapham Common. As part of the Portobello Pubs & Bars family, quality is a given and they absolutely deliver on every level! ✨️ The staff are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and genuinely attentive, which instantly sets the tone. The vibe is spot on, with a spacious central bar on the ground floor that’s easy to access from every angle, making it feel lively without ever being chaotic. Upstairs is just as impressive - a cosy space with sofas that’s perfect for small parties, plus a roof terrace overlooking Clapham Common. The newly added umbrellas are a great touch, making it enjoyable even on rainy days. 🌞 Drinks are crafted to perfection, and the food is simply outstanding. It’s the ideal place to wind down at the end of the week with their breakfast, bottomless deals, or to kick things off for a party evening with great energy and amazing DJ sets. Huge kudos to the entire team, I’ll definitely be back! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻”

  “We book this restaurant in advance and made them aware that there will be someone with dietary restrictions intolerance to wheat and dairy. So when we went through the menu it felt like they was doing it for the first time, really wasn't aware what the guest could eat or not, or at least the manager comes over and takes over the conversation instead of the waiter going back and thought. Not great. We also made them aware in advance on the booking but it seems they didn't prepare themselves until we mentioned it at the table. When the guest wanted the Sunday Roast Veg for the roast chicken they said they would have to charge her for both meals it be extra cost but they was happy to server her the Sunday roast without the trimmings. Which felt a little unfair, so they offered her sprouts you will see the picture.. I would say brush up on your menu on what your customers can have or not, the waiter made my friend feel like she was the problem and being an issue and there should be flexibility on building a plate for that person. This will be the only time we will visit here. Apart from the above the food was tasty and it's a great roast, I would say it's slightly overpriced. On presentation it looks a bit flat, all the colour of the veg was hidden under everything, did it fill me up, No!”

  “My sister and I visited 32 Old Town for the Veuve Clicquot champagne birthday offer, and we were truly impressed with the experience. Our server, Pro, gave us a warm and friendly welcome and was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and its pairings. We enjoyed the steak and spit-roast lemon and thyme chicken, followed by a delicious cheese board. Everything—apart from a slightly longer wait time—was well above expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning soon. Thank you to the staff at 32 Old Town for making our day special.”

My primary reason for visiting was to try their much-anticipated new breakfast menu, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint, it is absolutely amazing! Every dish that passed by looked incredible, and what I ordered exceeded all expectations. The creativity, the freshness of the ingredients, and the execution of each dish were truly top tier. It's clear that a lot of thought and passion went into crafting these new offerings. As someone who appreciates inclusive dining options, I was particularly thrilled to see their emphasis on "Vegan Optional!" This isn't just a token gesture; it speaks volumes about their commitment to catering to all dietary preferences without compromising on flavour or quality. It's fantastic to see a menu that truly embraces modern dining needs and ensures everyone can enjoy a delicious breakfast. However, beyond the stellar food, what truly elevated my experience was the service. My staff member, a fantastic individual named Gio, was absolutely above and beyond. Gio possessed that rare blend of professionalism, genuine warmth, and attentiveness that makes you feel incredibly valued. They anticipated needs, offered helpful suggestions, and handled everything with a friendly demeanour that made the entire visit exceptionally pleasant. Gio is a shining example of what outstanding customer service should be, and they truly made my day. In summary, if you're looking for an incredible breakfast experience with truly innovative and delicious options (including excellent vegan choices!), and service that will make you feel like a VIP, then you simply must visit this establishment. And when you do, be sure to keep an eye out for Gio, they are an absolute gem! I cannot recommend this place highly enough and I am already planning my next visit.”
