About The Sun
The Sun is a pub at 47 Old Town in Clapham, London, with a reservable beer garden that has heaters and covers put out when needed, so groups can plan an outing around it. Inside, wood panelling lines the pub, and drinks come by table service. Craft beer is on offer at the bar. The kitchen serves a Sunday roast with Yorkshire pudding, and a three-course set menu runs on roast day. A chicken burger and veggie and vegan options sit on the menu for the rest of the week. The venue space has its own bar for birthday parties and other events, and the staff will keep a cake in the fridge or cover it until it is needed. The pub opens daily.

Customer Review Summary
Birthday celebrations come up most, with reviewers describing staff who made parties easy: one host was let in hours early to set up a themed party, another had a huge cake kept in the fridge, and a third had a cake brought out smoothly on a busy night after helpful emails beforehand. The large garden gets praise too, especially the covers and heaters put out when needed. Close behind, reviewers call the staff friendly and welcoming. Food mentions include a roast whose Yorkshire pudding was as good as the meal, a chicken burger a host recommended, and well prepared veggie and vegan dishes. The complaints are specific. One Sunday roast diner reports a long wait, food that tasted reheated, two tiny potatoes, a chewy Yorkshire pudding, and staff chatting behind the bar. Another felt a portion of chips priced just under most pints was poor value. One party host left a birthday cake overnight, and staff covered it in cling film so it would not spoil.

“Overlong wait for food, Sunday roast, which when it arrived tasted reheated. Lovely chicken but Two tiny potatoes, chewy Yorkshire pudding, meagre vegetables. Weren’t asked if everything was ok. Service was non existent, staff were much more interested in chatting behind the bar, impossible to get anyone’s attention. Give it a swerve!”

“Bella was an amazing host, she had the best recommendations. She told me and my date to go for the chicken burger. It was amazing. Couldn’t be happier!!”

“Came in for a roast today and honestly wasn’t disappointed! We had the set menu 3 courses for £30 each, the food was amazing! Finding somewhere that the yorkie is just as good as the food itself isn’t easy! Sojun was super friendly and made the experience even better. We will be back soon ❤️”

“Reserved garden area for my husbands 50th, the garden is very large and we had a lovely space. Staff were so accommodating by putting the huge cake in the fridge for a couple hours, I really appreciated their help with making this a lovely special day. From making the reservation to finish everything was made easy with great communication, and the food is exceptionally good. Thank you to the whole team x”
