About McCafferty's Bar Crouch End
McCafferty's Bar Crouch End is an Irish pub at 128 Tottenham Ln in London, built around live sport. Six screens inside and two outside show GAA, football and rugby. The pub also hosts live music and DJ nights. Guinness is on offer, and the keg-only beer selection covers standard, premium and craft beers. A cocktail menu and a range of gins and whiskeys sit alongside the pints. There is no food menu, as this is a wet-led pub, though Tayto crisps are available at the bar. Bottomless brunch is offered too.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the Guinness, called good and excellent, served in a proper old school Irish boozer. Close behind is the sport. Several describe watching football and GAA on the many TVs, and one recalls watching Arsenal lift the league trophy in a beautiful beer garden on a busy day, when getting a drink was still easy. Live music, a wide beer selection and a bottomless brunch also earn praise, and one reviewer notes a friendly welcome and a chat with the landlord at opening. There is no food menu, only crisps. One reviewer finds the manager abrupt and dismissive to customers and staff. The recurring complaint is the dog policy. Two reviewers say they were told to sit outside with their dogs, then had that area closed without notice. One was refused further drinks after an hour, and the other was ordered out with a freshly served pint and met irritation when asking for a refund.

“A proper old school Irish boozer in a world where all the others have been turned into bistros or craft beer houses. Great for the football. Don't live in crouch end anymore but come back for games at this pub. Good Guinness. Tayto crisps. Lots of tvs. And a big beer garden. Good times a plenty 👌”

“Really loved this place and have been many times but my opinion changed on Saturday. We went for my boyfriend’s birthday and brought our dog (he’s been many times before). We were advised that he had to sit outside the back which was completely fine. Then the closed the outside part (not the garden part which has sign posted warnings and was already shut - the outdoor part that’s sheltered that has no signs of time closure). They had just served me a fresh pint (knowing I had a dog by the way as they had come over to me originally saying I needed to bring him outside) and then told me that me, my dog and my fresh pint needed to get out as dogs aren’t allowed outside. They then acted so surprised, rude and pissed off that I asked for a refund for my pint since I wasn’t allowed to drink my drink as I had to leave with my dog ?? As I said I have absolutely no problem with let policies and will always respect them, but sort this mess out. Serving drinks to people outside with dogs and then shutting the outside area with no notice is crazy”

“Great atmosphere. Pub was really busy due to a football match being televised but getting a drink was easy.”

“I went in during the day time and asked the woman behind the bar if dogs were allowed and that I would be returning in the evening with a friend and her dog, to which she said “yes”. When we arrived that evening with the dog we were told that we had to sit in the garden area to which we obliged, contrary to what I had been told earlier. However after an hour we were told that the garden was now being closed. The woman behind the bar (the same one who had told me earlier it was okay to bring the dog) then refused to serve us any more drinks so effectively we were being asked to leave. Bad communication and lack of respect for paying customers.”

“Traditional Irish Bar with live Music Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All sporting events shown live from G.A.A., Football and Rugby. We have one of the finest pints of Guinness around and not to be matched. We have 6 screens inside and 2 more outside, always a great place to watch any game or just chill in beer garden. Lazy summer nights can be spent enjoying our cocktail menu or one our range of gins and whiskey's. Not be missed.”
