Customer Review Summary
Pints of Carling at a notably low price draw the most attention, with reviewers repeatedly calling it a bargain worth returning for. Close behind, the rooms upstairs earn steady praise for being clean and comfortable, alongside a full English breakfast reviewers describe as fresh and high quality. Several guests single out the welcome from the landlady and staff, and one group mentions being given free use of the back yard for a baby shower. A couple of visitors add that booking direct rather than through a third-party site saves money on the room rate. Set against this, one reviewer reports a ruined night's sleep from loud partying under their room until the early hours, calling it the worst night's sleep imaginable and advising others to pay extra to stay elsewhere. The rest of the accounts describe the opposite, with guests saying they would happily stay again for the drinks and the rooms alike.

“About as bad as it gets. Do Not stay here, you will not sleep with the all night/all morning partying. The worst night sleep you could imagine at your expense, think 2am partying under your bed. Pay extra and stay elsewhere for your sanity”

“What a legendary boozer. Tidy inside, very warm welcome from the landlady and the blokes sitting in there. Best of all pints of Carling are only £2.50 when i was in there (Wednesday) - can't go wrong! Update: they have rooms here so stayed the night for work, the rooms are spot on, even better when you can just go straigh from the bar to bed. Make sure you book direct and not through booking.com as they take a massive slice of the cash.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
