About The Crafty Swine
The Crafty Swine is a pig-themed pub in Liverpool, on Smithdown Rd at the top end of the road and near bus stops. Its menu sections are the "trough" and "little piggies", and the drinks go by the "swill", which takes in 14 keg beers, cask ales, wines and cocktails. The kitchen serves breakfast and brunch, including the crafty breakfast, and also does pizza and tapas. The roast dinner comes with beef served pink. Big screens show football. The pub is a sister to the Three Piggies on Allerton Road.

Customer Review Summary
Pizza is the most frequent draw at The Crafty Swine, with reviewers calling the pizzas gorgeous and pairing them with the tapas, the "trough" and "little piggies" menus. Close behind is breakfast, where the crafty breakfast is described as unreal and lovely. Several praise the friendly staff, and one group describes a manager setting up heated outdoor booths so their stressed dog could stay. Others mention hosting a large birthday party with a menu tailored by the owner, cocktails, and big screens for the football. The main criticism is that the craft beer billing falls short: one reviewer found no cask on, a single craft option, and a bartender who asked whether craft meant lager, calling it more of a sports bar. Another found the roast beef pink but the creamed greens extremely wilted. The extra jug of gravy that staff quickly brought when asked is a detail the roast diners single out.

“We highly recommend Crafty Swine. We hosted our daughter's 18th birthday at Crafty Swine and had a fantastic evening. Before the start of the evening, the owner helped us tailor and organise the menu for our party of 17, and opting for a pizza and tapas theme, the food was top draw. The manager overseeing our table (I think it was Esther) was so helpful and her staff were so polite and attentive that it made for a special evening. Thank you Crafty Swine for such an excellent time. This is a full 5-star bar and restaurant.”

“We came as a group of 7 and 2 dogs for a birthday. We reserved a table but one of our dogs was very stressed inside and couldn’t stay. The manager very kindly set up two booths in the outdoor area for us (which was not supposed to be open) under a cover with heaters and blankets and we were served our lunch outside. It really was incredible service and much more than we could have asked for. The food and drink were incredible as always. I didn’t catch the managers name but thank you again so much to you and the staff that served us!”

“Not so 'crafty' when you ask what craft beers they've got on and the bartender goes 'do you mean like lager?' If being marketed as a craft beer pub, really need to have some knowledge of beer by the bar staff! No cask on and only 1x craft available when I went (Vocation - £6.60/pint). Could be great, but more of a sports bar than true craft beer spot. Oh, and the male loo didn't have a lock on the door!”
