About The Childwall Fiveways Hotel
The Childwall Fiveways Hotel is a Wetherspoon pub at 179 Queens Drive in Liverpool, named after the five exits on the roundabout at its busy junction. Photographs of George Harrison hang on the wall inside. Breakfast runs until noon and centres on a Full English, while tea and Lavazza coffee come with free refills all day. Later meals include gourmet burgers and chicken wings with hot sauce. At the bar, five hand-pulled cask conditioned real ales sit alongside a wide choice of beers, lagers, ciders and gins, with non-alcoholic and low-calorie drinks as well. Food is brought to the table, and the team clears tables for the next customers when it gets busy. The pub is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
The food draws the sharpest complaints. One diner describes a burger burnt to a crisp and reheated, and another reports a stale bun, wilted lettuce, a grey half chicken, and a lipstick-marked glass amid flies and grimy tables. A third found the meal lukewarm with a long wait for orders. One reviewer was disappointed that an advertised Christmas dinner discount wasn't available despite the signs.

“Called in for a family meal on way home quite busy but service was quick and tables were cleared well for next customers”

“I recently visited The Childwall Fiveways Hotel for a meal, and it was a bit of a mixed experience. Situated on a busy landmark junction in Liverpool, this Wetherspoon has a great layout and a lot of potential, but my latest visit left me feeling somewhat divided. Starting with the positives, the service was very nice. The staff members I encountered were genuinely polite, professional, and had a welcoming attitude, which goes a long way in a busy pub environment. It is clear the front-of-house team is trying their best to look after everyone. However, the experience fell short in other areas. It was not the fastest of service; we found ourselves waiting a considerable amount of time for our orders to be processed and delivered to the table. While a bit of a wait is expected at peak times, this felt notably sluggish. Furthermore, the food was not that nice on this occasion. It lacked the usual quality I expect from a Spoons; parts of the meal were lukewarm, and the overall presentation and taste were quite disappointing. In summary, while the lovely staff make the atmosphere pleasant, the slow pace and poor food quality let the visit down. It is a fantastic spot for a social drink due to the friendly service, but the kitchen definitely needs to sharpen up to match the standard of the floor team.”

“Food here is probably the worst Ive ever had. Its cheap pub food but I expect it to be edible . I ordered a burger, it looked like it had been burnt to a crisp 3 days ago and heated up was awful. A McDonalds would have been better and cheaper. Never again! Not actually been fiveways in years wont be going again total dump. Such a shame!”

“Whenever I meet my friends, I like choosing a pub where we can enjoy good food, a pleasant atmosphere, and a convenient location. Although I don’t drink alcohol, I truly enjoy entertaining my friends and spending quality time together. The Childwall Fiveways Hotel (Wetherspoon) is one of my favorite places for this. They offer a great variety of non-alcoholic drink options, which is perfect for me. The food quality is consistently very good, and everything is reasonably priced. The environment is always clean and welcoming. The outside seating area is comfortable and well-maintained, making it a lovely spot to relax. Location-wise, it’s excellent and easy to access. The building itself is beautiful, and the interior design creates a warm and pleasant feeling. The service is excellent, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. It genuinely feels like chatting with friends at home — relaxed, comfortable, and enjoyable. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to meet friends and spend a great time together.”
