About Nonna Juana Delicatessen
Nonna Juana Delicatessen is a coffee shop at 55 Burton Rd in Lincoln, run by a family of Argentine and Spanish background. The kitchen makes fresh and dry pasta by hand in-house, alongside sweet and savoury foods made with natural products and local produce. Sandwiches come on focaccia, with fillings such as chicken and chorizo, and extra toppings like mozzarella or brie can be added. Vegan options sit on the menu for plant-based diners. On the sweet side, the cakes and desserts include a dulce de leche cheesecake. Customers can eat in at the café, and dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come back to the focaccia sandwiches, with the chicken and chorizo and the beef brisket named repeatedly, and the porchetta, mortadella, Serrano and a vegan pickled aubergine version each mentioned too. Diners describe the sandwiches as filled to bursting, with tasty bread and a sauce that gets its own praise, and several call them among the best they have eaten. Close behind are the sweets, led by the Oreo cookie, with the red velvet cookie and a dulce de leche cheesecake described as not overly sweet. A beef empanada also earns a mention. Staff and owners come across as welcoming and accommodating, including one who made room for a party of six and others who chatted warmly with a visiting couple. The only caution is cost: one reviewer says the price might put some off but is worth it, while another calls it great value for an eat-in sandwich. One reviewer wishes there were a shop in the city centre. Takeaway sandwiches, per one reviewer, were made without a long wait.

“What a hidden gem! One vegan pickled aubergine and one beef brisket focaccia. The quality of ingredients, the bread, the way every component complimented each other. It was absolutely delicious. Up there with one of the best sandwiches we've both eaten! We're sad we're not local to visit again.”

“Got to be the best sandwich I've had in a long while. I had the Chicken Guacha, sauce was beautiful and the focaccia bread really tasty. Will definitely visit here again if im every visiting again.”

“Recommended by my son as the best sandwich / cake shop in Lincoln. He wasn’t wrong ! The Focaccia sandwiches were filled to bursting and the bread was perfect. Preferred the brisket to the chicken and chorizo but both were excellent. The sauce was yummy. Great value at about £11 a sandwich eat in. Really helpful waitress who went of her way to accommodate 6 of us. Friendly and polite staff. Such a shame they don’t have a shop in the city centre as if this place was in the High Street it would be a licence to print money….”

“Can't recommend this enough. My girlfriend and I visited here on a whim from Nottingham as part of a visit to Lincoln's other attractions, but this became one of the main events. Firstly, what most people care about, the sandwich I had was genuinely one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life. Genuinely so tasty, if the price puts you off, it's worth it. I had the chicken and chorizo sandwich and it was divine. But on a personal level - the owners are absolutely wonderful. My girlfriend is from Argentina and so is one of the owners, and of course they chatted together but he was so nice and welcoming to me as well. Such a nice guy and so deserving of your business. He introduced us to his wife (I believe co owner) who is from Spain and we chatted together for a little bit as well. Even though 3 out of the 4 of us spoke Spanish fluently (I was the one that didn't) they made sure to include me in the conversation in English and that is so appreciated. While Lincoln has a Cathedral and a Castle, this is equally as important to visit. This was a really poignant visit for us, and I suppose if you're not in the situation we are it won't be as magical, but it's still a really tasty sandwich and great service.”

“An absolute pearl of a place in Lincoln. Maria's wonderful and bright adding unparalleled cheerful atmosphere that doesn't really exist anywhere else. Great prices for godly food, I always take everyone who visits me in Lincoln to Nonna Juana, a must visit, dare I say more important to visit than the cathedral and castle in Lincoln.”
