Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return most for the full English and breakfast plates, praising hot, filling servings with sausages, eggs and mushrooms singled out, and tea or coffee included. One says the kitchen swapped mushrooms for an extra sausage. Close behind are the soup of the day and a beef chilli jacket potato, which arrived piping hot with fresh ingredients, plus an excellent coffee. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, lovely and chatty, and the owner and chef are described as personable. Several mention the calm, welcoming, clean space, with one reviewer who is neurodiverse finding it easy to relax there. The one critical review describes a ham and cheese sandwich on white bloomer bread that fell apart and was hard and butterless. The waitress said it had been taken out of the freezer that morning, and the reviewer also found the first table sticky and left unhappy with the staff's manners. Another reviewer praised how quickly food arrived, and a first-time diner noted minimal waiting.

“First time here. After moving tables. The first was all sticky. Should have been worried at that point! As "she'd already wiped it" We ordered a cheese and ham sandwich, Coke zero. On white bloomer bread. After a bite I asked the waitress if the bread had been frozen as it fell too pieces. "Yes I got it out this morning". Butterless bread. I asked her to put her finger on the corner to prove how hard it was. Inedible in fact. "Yes" sorry about that" walked off. £25 later. Conclusion don't waist your money here. Better places to eat. With staff with minimul manners. And much better service.”

“A excellent place to eat, Amanda's opens early on a Sunday as well, at around 9am.. My full English was lovely and hot and just enough to eat. I met a lovely lady who served behind the counter as she was very kind & Friendly. It's not far from the centre of the city. And it has outside eating and It's very clean and has a nice atmosphere”

“I was visiting Lincoln a couple of weekends ago and found this lovely cafe. The food all looked amazing but I only needed a coffee, so perhaps another time. I sat inside but there was also a small outside area which was very popular.. My coffee was excellent and really set me up for the rest of the day. Definitely on my list of cafes for when I make my next trip to Lincoln.”

“Such a beautiful cafe. Beautiful drinks, food and service with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were all so friendly and the decor is cosy but quirky. The owner was such a lovely person and spent time chatting to us. Will 100% be back! Thank you ☺️”

“Lovely modern decor, immediately noticed that the place must've been recently refurbished/ taken care of well. My breakfast was sublime, delicious Lincolnshire sausages, egg cooked to absolute perfection, everything was quality as! Happy gave me an extra sausage to replace the mushrooms, something often refused at most places! Staff were lovely, chatty, and interested in how we enjoyed it. 100% recommend”

“Formally The Bread Vault - Amanda, who is originally from Lincoln, has owned the cafe since 2023. After 2 years of running the hugely successful Bread Vault - She has recently bought out her business partner and has put her own stamp on the cafe. Bringing a sense of calm, and a lovely, homely space to relax either with friends or to chill in your own company. Our regular customers and new visitors alike are still enjoying the same great breakfasts, lunches, as well as the lovely cakes and pastries. We are especially proud of our great team of friendly, chatty staff. Amanda is evolving the cafe - so watch this space and is as independent as you can be. Located close to the Premier Inn and car parks in Lincoln on Broadgate. Welcome!”
