Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the coffee and drinks, from a coconut milk latte so good one person had a second cup to a vanilla oat latte described as creamy and an Oatly Banana Bread Matcha one reviewer wants kept on the menu. Brunch plates follow close behind, with chicken and bacon waffles and pancakes, a chicken flatbread with fries, and Miso Mushrooms on Toast drawing praise, plus a granola bowl that can be made vegan with coconut yoghurt. Several describe a light, spacious room with a good playlist, and staff who allowed meal edits, offered a sample of the Banoffee Shake, and honoured a free drink voucher that would not load. The main complaints concern value and execution. A few call the prices high, and one found it too expensive for what it was, with coffee arriving after breakfast, self-serve cutlery and water, and a neighbouring table left uncleared. Others found the coffee not warm enough, an iced mocha short on mocha flavour, and chives in a bacon and egg roll that one diner had not expected.

“First time, won't be the last time! 4 for brunch, 2 with traditional breakfasts, 2 with chicken and bacon pancakes. All great quality and super tasty! Nice drinks too. Staff nice as well. We all loved it. Thank-you!”

“Love BEAR cafe, this place had especially good customer service! They do the best Iced Matcha (Banana Bread Matcha) but it wasn't on the menu, so I asked if they could do something similar and thankfully they we're able to recreate the Banana Bread Matcha. Please keep the Oatly Banana Bread Matcha as a regular menu item, its one of the best drinks ive ever had! Also my partner couldn't load a free drink voucher they got a few months ago and the barista honoured the free drink anyway which was amazing! Will be back to try the brunch sometime soon!”

“Me and my girlfriend visited here today, the staff were super friendly letting us make edits to our meals which were really great! When we asked what a drink was they ended up bringing us over a sample which was the Banoffee Shake. The atmosphere was really calming and the playlist is so good. Highly recommend this place if you’re in Lincoln.”

“Neeed somewhere near train station that was open early and Bear fit the bill. Lovely lady on counter. Excellent coffee ☕ (black) and the granola bowl was perfect because it could be veganised with coconut yoghurt so no cow was exploited. A must place to go for coffee and breakfast.”
  • Jodie
“What a great new spot near Lincoln! The food was fantastic, with a great choice of drinks, and the atmosphere was brilliant. The prices are on the higher side, but you definitely get what you pay for. We had a really enjoyable time and will definitely be back!”
