  “What a jewel of a place. Stayed over for Work I was recommended the trooper by my friends at the Holiday Inn. And it did not disappoint. Fyn Was extremely helpful as soon as I walked in and recommended food and the fact that the Best grill chef was on shift tonight so I ordered the belly pork bites for starter and a rump steak and it was fantastic. So helpful, fantastic atmosphere and great service. Please try this beautiful pub/steakhouse if you are visiting Litchfield”

  “Had to wait ages to be served- ended up ordering at the bar - when the food finally came after 40 minutes the chicken wings were burnt to a crisp and not edible! We sent them back and they were replaced and ok - when asked how the food was we explained, but no refund or seemed bothered as they were busy -the pimms was nice! As we left we could smell burning! Must of been the wings!”

  “The staff couldn't of been more helpful and attentive. Service was prompt and the staff were friendly. They made the lunch extra special by singing happy birthday to me. Lucy was a great waitress. Service of the food was quick. It was very busy in there, but we didn't experience any delays in service. Will definitely be going back again.”

  “Food was beautiful, the views was beautiful, the service was amazing, unfortunately my meal got ruined by a group of girls making inappropriate comments and gestures that made me get put off my food. Nothing to do with the restaurant its self but I had to write this as i felt awful about the amount of food i sent back to the kitchen and i just had to let them know it was nothing to do with them.”

  “Easily one of our go to places - nice location & great food! Staff always seem helpful and polite. The deep fried ice cream is a new addition to the menu and is definitely worth a try!! Only downside is when busy can get a bit loud and echoing which makes it hard to hear.”

  “Lovely food. We only stopped to have a drink but chose to view the menu and ended up ordering several things to try as they were unusual for a standard pub menu. Quality was superb. Highly recommend.”

  “Visted for my moms birthday in Feb. Food was lovely and Lucy really looked after us. She even bought mom some Birthday ice cream and we didn't even ask for it. Total surprise. Definately worth a visit, lovely views. We will be returning.”

  “Came here last night for mine and my daughters birthdays, with other family members my son treated us 🥲 Stafford was very friendly polite and always helpful. Food was nice, even brought us a pudding out as a birthday treat! Witch just made out evening that bit more special for us! Would recommend”

  “We went here for Sunday lunch. We had been before but it has been a few years. It’s a nice place, staff are great here. We had Sunday lunch and both had beef. The food does taste amazing. The Sunday lunch used to be different, you used to get extra potatoes and green if you wanted it, but you don’t now. The roasts start at £18 but you don’t seem to get that much anymore. 2 roasters, some mash, maybe 3 slices of beef, some veg and a Yorkshire. I just wished there had been more. But again it did taste great. The menu does look good so we may revisit to try more stuff. A decent selection of drinks at the bar, but I always go with cider. It can get busy so I’d definitely book.”
