  “Pretty massively sized upscale pub food. When my dad and I went in July it was almost completely empty at 8pm. The waiter seemed a bit impatient for us to order and get on with it. That being said, the food was delicious. I'd return. Maybe at a different time it's more lively and friendly.”

  “First time visit for dinner and it was really lovely. It's a classy place with great attentive staff. Service was quick and food delicious. It was nice to have such a wide variety of choice. My sister said the pork tomahawk was amazing. Highlight for me was the crab. Will definitely be returning.”

  “The risotto’s rice tastes like Chinese rice, and the texture resembles congee; the flavour is okay, but the risotto is basically a flavoured, mushy congee. I can also feel there's a fish bone in it. The soup simply tastes awful. It tastes like savoury custard with a strong parsnip flavour. Definitely not recommended. As for the sticky pudding, the caramel is too sweet for me adding to the pudding, and the chocolate crisp feels a bit out of place and unnecessary. It’s strange to have sour cream or yoghurt, whatever it is, on top of this dessert—suddenly sour after the sweetness. Although the yoghurt can balance the sweetness, it doesn't harmonise with the overall taste. One positive aspect is that the pudding’s texture is bouncy, and the sweetness is just right. Regarding the chicken, my friend ordered it so I’m not sure about the quality. She said it was okay. For me, I remember the mashed potatoes being quite good. In terms of service, it takes quite a long time to get the food prepared.”

  “An absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The customer service was genuinely exceptional, attentive, warm and professional without ever feeling overbearing. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and looked after throughout. The venue itself is stunning. Beautifully designed with a luxurious feel, stylish décor and a really well thought-out layout that creates a great atmosphere. It feels high-end while still being comfortable and inviting. A perfect spot for a relaxed drink or a special meal. Highly recommend!”

  “Love it here! The bar is lovely great for drinks and pre drinks before sitting down for food, the restaurant area is lovely the food is exceptional really great quality, superb portions and super tasty very good value for money due to the quality. The staff are great very attentive and friendly. Been here a number of times for family and friend birthday meals as well as lunches and dinner. This weekends Sunday roast was brilliant and bottomless roast potatoes and gravy too!!”

  “This restaurant was very good! We were shoehorned in for a last minute Sunday Lunch reservation and I’m so glad we were able to get a table as the food was fantastic. We weren’t crazy hungry so we shared a started, had 2 mains and shared a dessert. I have to say, each course was superb. For starter we shared a cheese soufflé and mains, I chose a steak & chips, medium rare (cooked to perfection but the meat itself was not the best quality) while my partner chose the duck with dauphinois potatoes and veg - the hands down winner! Dessert was the pistachio soufflé which, although was very flavourful, wasn’t anything to write home about. Drinks were refreshing and service was excellent. Polite, eloquent, welcoming and courteous. Will be coming back for seconds 👏🏻👏🏻”

  “Absolutely loved the Quill & Scholar in Lichfield! Stunning interiors,warm atmosphere, and incredible food. We had the beetroot terrine and Morteau sausage salad to start, followed by the steak night special with their delicious Chefs extra sauces. The baked Alaska dessert set alight at the table was a real showstopper. Friendly, attentive service made the evening perfect. Highly recommend for a special night out or a relaxed meal with family and friends.”

  “Enjoyable pub dining experience, date night in Lichfield and thought we’d try here for some dinner. 5pm reservation. Had no complaints, bar area was buoyant and lively with people enjoying themselves on a Saturday early evening. Food was good, would definitely visit again, partner had trout (no pic sorry) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Friendly service and everything was clean! Thank you”

  “The staff were incredible. Funny, welcoming, polite, helpful...the list goes on. They really are a massive asset to the business. The food was tremendous. Lovely presentation and fantastic flavours. The venue itself is tastefully decorated and has a really nice feel to it. I'd happily recommend The Quill and Scholar to anyone. We will definitely be back.”
