Customer Review Summary
Diners most often return for the curries, with the lamb achari, murgh masala and Nawabi Khana, a dish reviewers say is cooked with 21 ingredients, named as the standouts. Peshawari and cheesy naans are described as fresh and very nice, and the fish masala starter gets praise for its flavour. Several reviewers call the staff friendly and polite, and one notes a restaurant employee delivered a takeaway personally in the snow when no driver was available. Portions are called fantastic and prices reasonable. Complaints come mostly from takeaway orders. One reviewer found the poppadoms stale and tasting of old oil, and the veggie samosa arrived as four tiny frozen ones. Others found the chicken tikka dull, the lamb curry chewy and a mushroom bhaji served like a curry. One diner left early after a server described the chicken tikka masala as the "English" version, a pink, flavourless sauce, in a tone they found patronising. Another reviewer's garlic chicken balti was nice but had dry chicken.

“Ive always loved bengal brasserie but tonight im a little disappointed. Mushroom bhaji came like a curry and onion Rita was lumpy greek yogat on top of some onions!!!! Never had anything like that before!”

“This review is simple to create. Shine and his team have hospitality skills that most similar establishments have either lost or didn't bother to achieve. This is a very well run restaurant and I just wish our circumstances permitted us to visit more often. Well done to them.”

“Ordered a takeaway from here as it was on offer on UberEats and I thought I'd try it. The delivery took much longer than it said it would, but that was UberEats' fault. The poppadoms were awful. Tasted like very old oil, stale and overcooked. Unfortunately my onion bhaji was also stale, there were four and the other three were fine. The "samosa" very disappointing. I ordered a veggie samosa but what arrived was four tiny (frozen) samosas. If you put "samosa" on the website I want one normal samosa not tiny party food samosas. The garlic chicken balti was nice but the chicken was quite dry. However the lamb achari was delicious, the lamb was tender and the curry was flavourful. The peshawari naans were also very nice. I'd probably order from here again but if the poppadoms and samosa doesn't improve I wouldn't order again.”

“Probably the WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced. Went for a casual curry, ended up feeling uncomfortable and leaving hungry. Spoken to by the supposed owner “Faraz”. My friend and I ordered the chicken tikka masala amongst other things. The chicken tikka masala wasn’t what we expected at all. It was pink soup with no flavour. He said this is the “English Chicken Tikka Masala” if you wanted the one without cream, you should have asked for Asian tikka masala (this wasn’t on the menu). The way he explained this was patronising and rude, almost as if we hadn’t eaten an Indian meal before. We have😑. Disappointed at the way this was handled (I felt very uncomfortable at the way he spoke to us) we ended our meal early. I hope this was a one-off on their part. But it will definitely be the last time we dine there.”
