About Indian Spice
Indian Spice is an Indian takeaway in Leeds, serving Indian cooking from 30a Astley Ln. The menu runs across curry and rice, with chicken bhuna and prawn biryani as two of the dishes people order. Chapati comes with the curries as a bread side, and onion bhajis go alongside. The takeaway is open evenings only, every day except Tuesday, so the kitchen works a dinner-time schedule on the six days it trades, with no daytime service.

Customer Review Summary
Curry quality divides reviewers almost evenly. Praise centers on tasty, non oily curry, good portions and chapati described as fantastic, with one reviewer crediting the chef and staff and another the polite service. Close behind is the complaint of blandness. Four reviewers report curries with little or no flavour, one comparing them to microwave curry and another finding a chicken bhuna ordered Asian style as mild as a korma. A Christmas Eve prawn biryani and masala fish were described as tasteless, with grey looking prawns and mushy fish, and another diner threw out tough chicken. Onion bhajis and naan were the only items one of them found ok. Delivery and waiting also recur. One fan says it can arrive much later than expected, and another was made to wait inside the shop well past the quoted time. That collection order then turned out to be missing two portions of chips, while the delivery fan notes the food still arrives warm.

“Ordered for the first time from this place, food arrived in good time for a Saturday evening and delivery driver was nice. Food was extremely poor, had little flavour and tasted just like microwave curry, could barely taste any kind of ‘Indian spice’.”

“Thumbs up to the Indian spice bit of a mixup with the order Chapati Well, fantastic as was the rest of the meal, thank you”

“Awful food. Ordered a Christmas Eve takeaway, a prawn biryani and a masala fish, the biryani had no flavour at all and the prawns looked grey. The masala fish equally tasteless and mushy in consistency, both thrown in the bin. Ended up eating the onion bhajis and naan bread which were ok, really disappointing and wouldn't order from here again. Also took ages to arrive!”
