About Spice Zone
Family-run since 2012, Spice Zone is an Indian restaurant in Cross Gates, Leeds, at 67 Penda's Way. The YEP vote named it Curry House of the Year in 2018 and again in 2019. The Special Mix Starter for Two is built for sharing and combines chicken tikka, lamb tikka, onion bhajis, chicken rolls and seekh kebab. Among the mains are bhuna curries made with meat or chicken tikka, along with vegetarian choices such as the Afghan paneer curry. Dishes can be made milder on request. Groups can book eat-in tables, including a table for 10. The kitchen buys from local butchers and groceries.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the flavourful curries with generous portions of meat, from the meat bhuna and chicken tikka bhuna to a chicken pathia, and one diner says a single curry could stretch to three meals. Close behind are the starters, including a special mix starter with lamb tikka and seekh kebab, onion bhajis and mushroom pakoras, along with crispy poppadoms and a well-stocked chutney tray. A paneer Afghan curry with lemon pilau and a fish curry made to a family's favourite recipe are also singled out, and several call the staff friendly and welcoming. Value is described as reasonable. Waits draw mixed comments: one takeaway order was ready as promised on the first visit and slower on a later one, and another reviewer found the food long in coming. The one negative review reports hair in the food, a cold meal after a delay and rude staff, and says staff made jokes about a child in a wheelchair. Another diner asked for a milder curry and got exactly that.

“Fantastic evening for an 80th Birthday. No problems at all booking a table for 10. We dropped off a cake and balloons beforehand and were setup on the table for when we arrived. The service was exceptional and the food, starters + mains + sundries were one of the best meals we have had. Recommended was the fish and this was made to my Mum's favourite curry. This was the first time we have visited and will be returning again as a great place to pop in, order a takeaway or have a celebratory meal. The prices were really reasonable also so thank you SpiceZone 👍”

“Delicious takeaway delivered whilst staying in the area. Very tasty, authentic curry with a lot of chicken. One curry could easily provide three meals. Excellent value!”

“Was recommended by a friend to come and eat in. Fabulous food. Asked to make it milder for my preference and they did just that. Had the onion bhajis and veg paneer curry! So tasty. Was my first time here but will definitely be back.”
