“The hospitality is not good it's only good if you're white. I found it very racist. They were treating other white customers so good and being friendly with them but we were getting judgmental looks. Being too unfriendly to us. Later when we said we don't want dessert he said come you'll empty table quickly for other people. LIKE SERIOUSLY? I understand when it's busy but when we first walked in, it was very quite and not many people were there but by the time we finished it got busy but still he could've been nice to us at the start. There was no need for that judgemental look. The food was good no doubt in that. But I'm never going here again and neither am I recommending this to my friends, family or anyone else.”

“Multiple Hairs Found in Food! I recently ordered a takeaway from Akbar's Leeds, and honestly it was one of the worst food experiences I’ve had. When I got the takeaway home and started eating, I found a hair in the family naan. I was disgusted, but initially tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and assumed it may have been an accident. However, after checking the rest of the food properly, I then found TWO more hairs in the naan and another hair in the Chicken Korma. Finding four hairs across multiple items in a takeaway order is absolutely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the hygiene standards and cleanliness of the kitchen. I contacted the restaurant straight away, not even looking for an argument, but simply to make them aware of the issue and ask whether their kitchen staff wear hair nets. I was asked to send photographic evidence, which I did immediately. I then spoke with the supervisor - manager Ummha, who admitted the situation was “concerning” and said he would investigate and call me back within 1–2 days — even advising me to chase them if I didn’t hear anything. As someone who previously owned a restaurant myself, I found this shocking. Complaints involving contaminated food and hygiene should be treated seriously and resolved immediately, not pushed back onto the customer to follow up themselves. The complete lack of urgency or accountability says everything about their customer service. What made it even worse was reading through reviews afterwards on Trustpilot and seeing how many other people have complained about finding hairs in their food from this place, often with dismissive responses from management. Clearly this is not an isolated issue. After this experience, it genuinely makes you question how clean the kitchen actually is and what standards are being followed behind closed doors. I’ll be uploading the photos as evidence so people can make their own judgement before ordering a takeaway from here.”

“Went to Akbar's Leeds this evening after quite a while, and it brought back a very nostalgic feeling. The food is consistently spot on, especially the ghosht karahi and the chicken nimbali. The prawn puri was absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious. The service was very good. We had a small misunderstanding with one of the dishes, but it was rectified straight away, so I really can't fault the staff or the way they handled it. If I was to offer any constructive feedback, I'd say the chairs are looking a bit tired now, as the saying goes, they're on their last legs (pun intended!). Overall, we had a brilliant experience and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you to everyone at Akbar's. We visited as a group of 3 adults and 2 children, and the total came to around £80, which we felt offered great value for the quality and quantity of food.”

“Went to this establishment with work colleagues who were celebrating their birthdays. I had matter keema apna style, special fried rice with potatoes, peas and I added a fried egg and I have to have chips which ever type of restaurant I go to. It was delicious. I shared the matter keema Apna style with my colleagues who said it was delicious and they would order it next time they visit this establishment. Excellent. Good atmosphere”
