Customer Review Summary
Lamb karahi leads the praise, with reviewers also singling out butter chicken, the seekh kebab, chicken boti and a mango lassi, while the masala chips and the tiered buffet draw enthusiasm from those who tried it. Service and the setting by the dock come up repeatedly, with diners describing friendly, attentive staff who stayed welcoming even when the place was busy, and a lovely atmosphere. Value and consistency split opinion. One diner found the tandoori naan not tandoori, the curry portions small and the ice cream plain, and another said the half kilo chicken karahi was not enough and the seekh kebabs were chewy. Lamb chops draw mixed reports: one birthday diner said they were tough with an unpleasant smell that left them feeling unwell, and another found them a little chewy compared with usual. That same birthday party called the chicken rolls bland and the rogan josh lacking depth, and said the waitress simply removed the plates when told. One group also noted some wobbly chairs and tables.

“Absolutely amazing experience at Mumtaz Restaurant in Leeds! The food was delicious, full of flavour and beautifully presented. The service was excellent — the staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel very welcome. The restaurant itself is lovely, with a great atmosphere and a really nice setting. “The food was expensive for the teste and the quantity. 1/2kg chicken was just a myth, perhaps they think by serving it in a big massive Karahi makes the quantity look big, wasn't enough for us. The Seekh Kababs were cheewy. Nans were good though. Lassi was ofcourse good. Mot worth the money spent. Should have gone the the "Alternative place" that was considering”

“An Amazing Kashmiri Restaurant to dine in. Even Royalty have dined here. Amazing amosphere next to the docks. Food is always amazing. However we found the lamb chops a little chewy on this occasion and not as tender as we usually find them.”

“I recently had the pleasure of being invited down to @mumtazleeds to try their new luxury buffet style dining experience. Let me tell you, this place has absolutely raised the bar. The buffet comes in three tiers: Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Each offering an increasing variety of starters, mains, sundries, and desserts. Naturally, we had to go all out and try the Platinum tier and wow, what an experience. Before any of the dishes arrived, we were served warm, crisp poppadoms with a range of freshly prepared sauces and dips (the perfect start to an Indian feast). Starters (The choice of four) * Meat Samosas. * Lamb Sheesh Kebab. * Chicken Pakora. * Chicken Tikka Boti. Mains (The choice of four) * Chicken Tikka Masala. * Lamb Desi On The Bone. * Butter Chicken. * Aloo Palak. Sundries (The choice of three) * Garlic & Coriander Naan. * Pilau Rice * Masala Chips - some of the best chips i’ve ever had. Desserts (The choice of 2) * Ice Cream. * Luxury Chocolate Cake. Let’s talk about the price - four starters, four curries, three sides, and two desserts for just £31.95 per person. And you can add unlimited refillable drinks for only £3.75! For the quality, quantity, variety, and the genuinely lovely service, this is incredible. I’ll 100% be coming back for what I couldn’t finish, especially for more of those masala chips!🫣🍽️😋 Find my reviews on Instagram and Tiktok @foodwithellie”
