About Hare & Hounds
Hare & Hounds is a pub on Commercial St in the centre of Rothwell, Leeds, set in a corner building around 200 years old. A family has run it since 2013, and the doors are open daily. Traditional pub lunches are served Monday to Saturday, and Sunday brings a roast lunch with Yorkshire puddings, mash, roast potato and gammon. Home-cooked dishes such as chicken pie and chips are also on the food side. The chef works with fresh, locally sourced produce wherever possible. Specialist food evenings are held on dates posted on the pub's Facebook page, and a tea time food service runs on Thursdays. Dogs are welcome inside.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday lunch draws the most detail from diners, with gammon described as delicious and plentiful, real Yorkshire puds, creamy mash, roast potato and vegetables cooked just right. One table that skipped the pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese extras wished they had ordered them after seeing other plates. Close behind are the home made chicken pie with chips and a roast beef baguette, which one diner called great value alongside cold, crisp cider. Reviewers repeatedly describe the staff as friendly, and a group booking found nothing too much trouble. The atmosphere is called lovely, relaxed and calm even when busy, and one visitor calls it a dog friendly pub. The criticisms are small. One reviewer found the music kept being turned up and down, and another who came in for a drink on a Saturday night was the only customer, though the cold beer arrived quickly. One parent, injured and unable to walk, recalls staff letting their partner use the ladies toilets to change their little boy's nappy.
