Customer Review Summary

Diners and gig-goers consistently single out the live music as the main draw, praising the excellent sound and intimate yet spacious venue that offers good sightlines from both the sunken dance floor and the raised platform. Close behind, reviewers highlight the reasonable drink prices and a solid selection of beers and cocktails, alongside a reliable food menu that works for pre-gig bites. The atmosphere is repeatedly described as laid-back and welcoming, with friendly staff who appear to enjoy their work. One reviewer reports a negative first impression due to door staff behaviour, though they note the bar staff and venue itself were lovely. Several also mention the handy location near the Playhouse and bus station, making it a convenient meet-up spot.

Great music venue, you can get a good view even if you're not near the stage as there's a lower floor then a raised platform around the outer edge of the room. Can get a bit warm but the prices of drinks was very reasonable.

A great bar and restaurant that’s perfect for a relaxed night out. There’s a really good selection of drinks and cocktails, along with a solid food menu, so it works whether you’re just popping in for drinks or staying for the evening. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is laid-back without feeling dull. It’s also in a really handy spot, close to the Playhouse and bus station, which makes it ideal for meeting up or heading out after a show. Highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere easy, enjoyable, and reliable for a good night out.

Perfectly sized venue with a range of performances from music to comedy. You can often find well established names and bands looking for smaller size independent venues, work-in-progress material in preparation for tours, and smaller but upcoming artists. Never had a bad night and the staff are also super friendly!

The door staff were absolutely shocking when i went to a gig last week, they made me feel so uncomfortable for no reason and actually stood and laughed in my face for just turning up! I’ve been to many gigs, and met so many bouncers, and i’ve never felt a vibe like this. Just being horrible for the sake of it. The bar staff and venue itself was lovely though, don’t have a single bad thing to say about them. The bouncers are the first people you see when you experience a bar for the first time and leave arguably a large impression of the establishment, it costs nothing to be kind.

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
