Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the Sunday dinner, naming the sirloin beef, the duo of beef and the chicken dinner, with the crumble and ice cream and the tiramisu close behind. The mojitos and a rose wine also get a mention. Staff draw the most consistent praise: servers who recommended dishes, one who wrote down and repeated back a table's pescatarian, vegan and dairy free orders, and a team that welcomed a party setting up a mini concert on a Monday night. Diners also like the open fires and the relaxed bar area where dogs are welcome, and ordering and paying at the bar. The complaints are specific. One Sunday lunch arrived with a burnt sliver of pork after a wait of nearly an hour in a mostly empty room, and another diner left without a paid-for dessert after the dessert menu never came. On a busy Easter Sunday, one reviewer found the bar short-handed and the food arriving staggered, though a child's meal came out among the first dishes.

“Nice place and amazing food! Me and my partner went there last night and we really enjoyed it. Costumer service was exceptional from the moment we walked in, we didn't have a reservation and the place was very busy but the manager Sam found a table for us straight away. The waitress who served us was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us a lot of suggestions. The food was as good as we expected. A very nice experience, we will definitely come back!”

“Unfortunately we just had a terrible meal here. Looking forward to a Sunday lunch and this arrived (the full thing, no extra plates). You could put a window through with the pork and roastie. For context, the pork is that small it’s the size of the end of a fork (see photo). £20 for two bites, yet I couldn’t bite it as it was too burnt. We also waited just under an hour for this, and the restaurant was mostly empty. It’s a shame, the waiter himself was very nice and great at his job. Unfortunately, I now need to go and cook some tea at home.”

“We had a lovely afternoon at The Deer Park. The food and drinks were great, I especially loved the rose wine. The staff were all lovely and we had a good chat with the manager. Our waitress Millie was very friendly, charming and helpful, thank you for making our afternoon so pleasant. We will be back very soon.”

“Matthew and Matthew were the most amazing hosts! We showed up as a big party with a musician and they were totally onboard with us setting up a mini concert on a Monday night. I cannot get over how hospitable the staff were. We had the most amazing time and met so many new friends!! Thank you again guys… those mojitos will never be forgotten xxx”
