“A classic pub in Leeds city centre. The pub is very large and there is a good amount of seating with lots of televisions showing live sport. Drinks are reasonably priced and service is efficient.”

“I've been a regular at the Merchant for awhile now (I brought my Team of 4 here for a Christmas Meal & Drinks) & it's usually quite decent, however on my last visit the Food served me was absolutely inedible; I ordered Lasagna & Garlic Bread.. what arrived was part-cooked lasagna with soggy cold Garlic Bread. Needless to say I left most of it which surprised the Chef who recognised my order (as a Regular) when he came out to check on me. The Chef told me it was a new member of Kitchen Staff & I should mention it at the Bar, which I did, but nothing was done & I have spent most of Today being unwell. Everyone has to learn & I'll likely return to the Merchant, but if this new member of the KItchen Team is on I won't order food.”
