About The Domino Club

The Domino Club is a speakeasy-style live music bar at 7 Grand Arcade in Leeds, entered through a door at the back of a barbershop. Bands play on a stage, with jazz, blues, soul and funk on the bill, and the acts have included a jazz trio and a brass band. Cocktails are a recurring part of the drinks list, including whiskey sours, and a beer and wine menu sits alongside them. One of the band nights has also come with a special German drinks menu. Tables can be booked in advance, including stage seating for a view of the band, and tickets for shows are pre-booked, with a late show among them.

Customer Review Summary

Live bands are the main draw, with reviewers praising a jazz trio, a young blues band, a funk and groove band and a brass band, in a buzzing room where people dance. Whiskey sours and other cocktails come close behind, alongside a good beer and wine list. Most describe friendly bar staff who were worked off their feet, though one reviewer who booked stage seating was first put at the back and moved only after asking twice, then heard a bar worker say they were standing there like candlesticks. Others note that drinks add up, that the bar queue was long on a Saturday, and that the shredded pork and burgers were dry and overcooked. One diner was told none of the three listed non alcoholic cocktails were available. Several suggest booking a table in advance for a good view of the stage, and one notes tap water arrived at the table without asking.

“Great live music venue. Excellent service from great staff. Patient too when you don't know what drink you want. 🤣 Good cocktail list and don't expect much change from £100 if you have a few as a couple. Book a table in advance to get a great seat to see the bands from. Highly recommend.”

“Had wanted to go for ages, finally went for our daughter's 18th. Booked a table in advance. All very smooth and efficient. Excellent music (a fab jazz trio and a fantastic young blues band), great atmosphere, amazing cocktails and good beer and wine menu too. Brilliant service from lovely staff. Only small point is that they only had 3 non alcohol cocktails on the menu and when I tried to order one I was told they didn't have any of those. We didn't have that problem with the several alcoholic ones we had. It looked really tasty and I didnt like the ingredients in the other 2 so it was disappointing as I wanted to pace myself a bit, and people have all sorts of reasons for wanting to avoid or cut down on the booze. They did keep us plentifully supplied with tap water for the table without us having to ask, which was great and meant we felt surprisingly good the next morning 😁”

“Been here twice with friends and the live jazz music was so nice both times. Very relaxing and chill.”

“Went here for a meeting - the venue was great hidden behind a barbershop - like an old speakeasy. The food was not that great - dry and over cooked shredded pork and burgers. Cool venue”
