Customer Review Summary

Cooked breakfasts and bacon sandwiches draw the most mentions at this station cafe. One early-morning regular calls it the best spot in central Hull for a bacon sandwich, and another praises a well done bacon bap. The full English with tea and toast and a large breakfast are described as freshly cooked, made with quality products, and good value for a railway station. Mugs of tea get a mention too, and one reviewer notes a good selection from snacks to full meals. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, welcoming and quick, and several say food arrives very fast. Reviewers describe the room as cosy, clean and comfortable, with one noting a back-in-time feel. The main complaint comes from one reviewer who found the standard breakfast a small, greasy portion with overcooked sausage and bacon and a swimming pool of beans and tomatoes. One reviewer also appreciates that no table number is demanded before ordering, and points to two battery clocks on the wall, both showing the correct time.

“Cafe clean and well laid out. 2nd time I've visited. Food served very quickly. Staff friendly and welcoming. Good selection of food, from snacks to full meals. Overall excellent. Highly recommended.”
  • Suzanne MacLeod
“Terrific cafe. Service great and pleasantly customer oriented (contrast process-driven cafes that demand you provide a table number before ordering!). Two battery clocks in here, both working and showing the correct time: extraordinary attention to basic detail, nowadays. Not just for travellers: recommended good value eatery for anyone in the city!”

“How anyone can give this place a negative review I’ll never know. I’ve been popping in for yrs inbetween train journeys to & from work. The staff are fantastic, polite & always smiley, the food is always great and the prices, considering it’s within a busy station are way more than fair. It’s usually the same customers I see in there too which I think speaks volumes for the place. without a doubt the best little cafe in the town centre.”
  • Graham Graham Beck
“A unique 'back-in-time' feel to the London Way Cafe. Cosy, friendly & a central location in town, makes for a welcome break, away from all the hustle & bustle. I've only had mugs of tea here, so unable to rate the food, but it looks very appetising (& I'm told the cooked breakfasts are really tasty!). Recommended.”

“I've lived across the Bridge from Hull for the last 30 months and missed this little gem all every time I was in the Interchange. Clean, comfy, and a real nice welcome from the staff/ owners? There is nothing wrong with the multi national coffeeshop a short distance away, but this cafe felt friendlier, cosier, and we must support smaller businesses. 2nd time here, great smiles, great cuppa, and a tasty, well done bacon bap at last. Nice atmosphere, clean, and plenty of seating inside and outside. Next to waiting rooms/ loos just past the platforms.”
