  “My mum and I came here for lunch today . We had scampi and chips and the steak and ale pie. The food was delicious. Service by Tia was exceptional. She was an absolute delight and an asset to The Apollo. My mum is recently wheelchair bound and was a little anxious about going out for lunch for the first time since her stroke , but the staff made her feel really welcome . Tia really added to her experience and I cannot thank her enough . Thanks again , we shall definitely be back . Xxx”

  “1st time visiting not very good impression staff member left the bar when customer waiting to be served and went outside for cigarette break. Table of 10 ordered food 8 were served in 30mins of ordering 2 left to be served ask were food to be told on way waited a further 10 mins and asked again to be told food was a minimum of an hour and half wait everyone else had finished their food and 20 mins later there food arrived. Food was OK but service really let us down on our visit.”

  “We had such a lovely time at Apollo Pub! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and relaxed. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home throughout our visit. The food was delicious, with generous portions and great quality, and the drinks were served promptly. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for catching up with friends, enjoying a family meal, or simply unwinding after a long day. A fantastic local pub with excellent service, great food, and a wonderful atmosphere.   “Been here a few times for food and it was good but we came in today after not being in for a while and we left very dissapointed after I spent almost 14 pounds on a hunters chicken and a pepsi and this is what arrived, I accept it was a very busy day for the pub but that does not excuse the presentation and effort put into this meal. Also the lady who delivered our food did not seem like she wanted to be there and had poor customer service skills (however she seemed young and inexperienced so I will excuse this) and then another lady came and took away our drinks with the food even though they were still half full. However, I will say the atmosphere of the pub was quite pleasant and everyone in there was very friendly and the bartenders were nice so overall it is good for coming in for a pint but the food and customer service was lacking. 3 stars.”

  “We came to Apollo to try out the gluten free offerings, we were not dissapointed! Out of 5 of us 3 of us are Coeliac including my 2 children. My children are only a few years diagnosed and have previously had some bad experiences eating out in other pubs with GF options either not being very child friendly or just very bad meals quality/taste wise. They absolutely LOVED their GF burgers today! It was my eldest childs birthday and she thought it was amazing! We all had burgers and my 2 Coeliac children had the caramel cookie brownie dessert.....yes....a gluten free cake/cookie based dessert! It was ace! You can check out all the gluten free options on the apollo page on the Marstons site by filtering the menu to the "NGCI" menu. There is loads to choose from! All very reasonably priced and high quality food for the money. Also we were able to use my blue light card which was another bonus which was happily accepted by the staff. The lady who served us (I assume the manager) was Coeliac herself and extremely knowledgeable and reassuring of their kitchens exceptionally high standards of food prep when dealing with allergens. She was a lovely welcoming lady, all staff were lovely to be fair. Unless you have to worry about and navigate a dietary need everytime you want to go out and eat you won't appreciate how lovely it is to have a pub meal that feels safe especially for your children. So if you have a dietary need like gluten free, vegetarian/vegan get yourself to Apollo for a fab safe meal. Thank you so much, we can't wait to come back and try more of the menu in the future.”

  “We thought about trying Apollo after having a refurb and was near by, we didn't book a table but there was availability. At 1st look at menu had plenty of choice, we both went for the smaller mixed grill, but was told none available, so our next choice was surf and turf upgraded to sirloin and steak americano, but no tartare sauce available with the scampi. The food came fairly quickly and the steaks where excellent.”
