  “We booked the Kite for our wedding in August 2026. Co-owner Ben was brilliant throughout the planning process, offering ideas and helping us design a ceremony and reception that felt just like us. On the day itself Ben, Tom and team were incredibly helpful and attentive. The courtyard provided a gorgeous backdrop for us to dance the night away to funk and soul music played by the Tom Braggins Trio (a band we thoroughly recommend!). Our guests commented on the beautiful food and wine, brilliant service, and stunning courtyard surroundings. A huge thank you to the whole team for helping us create such a special day.”

  “We hosted a 30th Birthday Party at the Kite and what a perfect venue and night. The stretched tent made for such a magical atmosphere elevated by our own private bar, live music set up and the best staff who made everything seamless - felt as though they were part of the party too! Everyone complimented the food and we couldn't fault a thing. A memorable night for all of us. Thank you team”

  “Had a lovely lunch here last Sunday. Food was great and staff went above and beyond to accommodate a fairy difficult customer in our party who is a coeliac. you were very patient and handled every "query" with professionalism and good humour. Will definitely come again”

  “We popped in on the off chance mid week and were offered a choice of 2 tables at the back of the restaurant near the rest rooms. The docor and lighting is nice which makes for a pleasant ambience. Once we'd taken our seats and settled down it immediately became apparent that the kitchen was also close by. The clatter of pots and pans and loud voices of kitchen staff was evident and disturbed the peaceful environment of the dining area. Our request to change tables was accomodated and we seated a short distance away. Nonetheless, during the meal the brouhaha was still disernable and interjected the enjoyment of our meal. Serious consideration needs to be given to introducing some doors to the kitchen to sound proof the area. The brown crab custard tart starter and the soda bread with butter were delicious. However, we both had the pan roasted coley which although sounding promising on the menu when presented was grossly overdone. Both sides of the fish were overcooked to the extent that a chewy exoskeleton of desicated fish sandwiched an otherwise moister interior. While the other elements of the dish were nice the coley was virtually inedible and ruined the dish. Either the coley had been overdone on both sides or it had spent considerable time under a heat lamp. Whoever cooked this main doesn't know how to cook fish. It seems a shame for a restaurant that has sought to up its game to compete with other local offerings lets itself down in this avoidable way. However, not withstanding this, we will give it another try as the pub is inviting and we have enjoyed nice meals before.”

  “We've enjoyed romantic anniversary meals and family dinners with our boys in the restaurant; we've done the brilliant pub quiz and eaten bar snacks (the Scotch egg is to die for!) in the pub area; and we've held book launches and 50th birthday gatherings in the stretch tent. The Kite delivers five-star service and fabulous food and drink every time (their cocktails are stunning). Cannot recommend highly enough and so grateful to Ben, Tom and the whole team for all they do to provide a memorable and sparkling venue for our community.”

  “I would definitely recommend trying here. The food was worth every penny. I enjoyed the Clementine with the confit duck leg, but the ginger pudding was definitely the star of the show! Could not fault the waiting staff and had a lovely evening, thank you!”

  “Booked the whole venue for a wedding in May. It’s no exaggeration to say that everything was simply SPECTACULAR. The venue itself, the ceremony room, wedding breakfast and atmosphere were outstanding. This however wouldn’t have been possible without Jess, Freya, Liv, Alfie, Tom and Olly and the kitchen team - Olly even made us an unforgettable Pork Pie wedding cake. It honestly felt like friends were taking care of absolutely everything and all that was left for us to do was to enjoy an amazing day. So impressed we’re already planning a big birthday event so we get to do it all over again. Cannot recommend enough!”

  “I recently celebrated my 30th birthday with 25 family and friends in the Marshall Room at The Kite at the Red Hart, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. A huge thank you to Jess for being so accommodating; nothing was too much trouble, even with a few last-minute changes. Her flexibility and attention to detail made everything run so smoothly. The room was decorated beautifully, the food was absolutely incredible, and all of our guests are still talking about it. Thank you to the whole team for making the evening so special. I’d highly recommend The Kite at the Red Hart for any private event and I’ll definitely be back!”
