Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the Sunday lunch and the generous portions, with friendly, efficient staff praised across nearly every review. Specific dishes named include the Chicken Katsu Curry, BBQ Ribs with meat that fell off the bone, BBQ Burger, poached salmon and Spaghetti & Meatballs, while desserts such as the Toffee Honeycomb Sundae and Apple and Cherry Crumble earn mentions too. Groups get a good word: one party of 30 had meals arrive quickly, hot and fresh with the children's meals first, and a booking for 9 was squeezed in on a busy day. The garden with a play area and a welcome for dogs also come up. A few suggest booking at busy times. The caveats are small but specific. One diner found the beef tough and chewy on a Christmas menu, and another said the rounded back chairs are not very comfy. The sharpest complaint is a Sunday roast that arrived without the crackling a staff member had confirmed, with frozen-tasting peas, carrots and roast potatoes, a tiny portion of cabbage, and only the Yorkshire pudding freshly cooked.

“Visited with my in-laws for a meal out and omg we were so impressed with the presentation of the food we ordered, the taste and the portion size. The Chicken Katsu Curry, BBQ Ribs, BBQ Burger and Ploughman's Salad were super yummy and the meat fell right off the bone for the ribs. The desserts were also delicious and very good portion sizes, Waffles with Banana Slices, Toffee Honeycomb Sundae, Creme Brulee Cheesecake and Apple and Cherry Crumble. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The worked very efficiently and organised. It is definitely worth bringing the whole family. The only thing I'd say is the rounded back chairs aren't amazingly comfy for those who are chunkier, but I believe other chairs are available.”

“We have previously been and had meals at the pub which we enjoyed without any issues . We had a family member staying and booked a table Service was friendly. We discided to have a roast asked the member of staff if the pork had crackling and she went away and came back stating yes .otherwise we would of had the chicken. The menu said localy sauced products . The dinner arrived no crackling . A spoon sized portion of cabbage if that ! Large amount of peas and carrots with tasted as though they were frozen . The roast potatoes were also frozen which had been deep fried. My sister use to be a cook herself and was disappointed that thing item freashy cooked was the Yorkshire pudding .sadly will not be returning felt disappointed. Shame as the food we have previously had was really good .not sure why it has changed so much”

“The staff were incredible for my Mums 60th birthday meal yesterday. They were extremely attentive and friendly, 30 meals came out quickly, hot and fresh. They even bought the children's meals out first... something that seems logical but not everywhere does! We opted to get our drinks from the bar as there were so many of us, and the bar staff were fab too. Lovely garden with a nice little play area for the children to play. I live an hour away from this restaurant but I will certainly be making the journey again in the not too distant future.”

“Update 20/12/2025. Back for the first time in 3 years and still worth a visit. We pre-ordered off the Christmas menu so no long deliberations about what to have. Efficient service, get us in and seated with a drink as we waited for the food. No complaints with the starters, 2 x chicken strips, 2 x prawn cocktail. Main 2 x Christmas dinner, 1 x fish pie, 1 x beef. The beef was the only low point being a bit tough and chewy. Dessert all good. Great staff and lovely atmosphere. Merry Christmas to you all 🎄🎄🎄”

“Had another lovely meal here it's now on our favourites list if we want to be lazy and eat out. Good food, happy attentive staff and a nice atmosphere. Would recommend booking at busy times as clearly it's a favourite of many and can get busy.”
