About Yorkshire Grey
Yorkshire Grey is a Greene King pub at 140 London Rd in Biggleswade, refurbished inside and out and open daily. The pub hosts quizzes and live bands, and the large space includes a big conservatory and a huge garden. Food is served throughout the day, and Sunday brings a roast dinner. The pie comes with chips, garden peas and a small jug of gravy. Starters can be shared as a tapas-style spread, with prawns, halloumi fries and squid among the dishes. Cask ales and premium spirits sit behind the bar alongside the kitchen. Parking is limited to a small car park on site.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly, welcoming staff, and the food that follows, with the pork belly with colcannon and vegetables described as hot, tasty and not overcooked. The roast dinner is called pleasant and well presented, a pie arrives with plenty of chips and a small jug of gravy, and one group built a tapas-style spread from starters including prawns, halloumi fries and squid, calling every dish delicious. Several note the refurbishment and a clean, spacious pub with a conservatory and large garden, and one mentions pub quizzes and live bands. The complaints are modest but specific. One reviewer was disappointed to get a single slice each of turkey and beef in the duo, and another found the real ale selection very limited. Parking is called small, and one diner who parked on the busy road reports service that never checked on the meals or offered more drinks, with tables sprayed while people still ate. Even on busy days, others say food and drinks came out in good time.

“From the outside at the front of the building , it looks a little tired. However do not let this put you off venturing inside. It open up and is very clean and comfortable. We were greeted by friendly staff and our meal was served by a very welcoming & friendly chap. We settled for the roast dinner . Which I found pleasant and well presented. It’s a reasonable priced meal for two coming in under £35. We didn’t try a starter or pudding. As we only went for a Sunday lunch. However we are both happy to go back on another occasion and try some other dishes on the menu . So thank you to the staff who worked on Sunday 23rd of August 2026 . You left a good impression.”

“Had lunch there today with my family. Service terrible didn’t get asked how our meals were, didn’t get offered another drink or the sweet menu. Waitress was spraying tables while people still eating. Went to bar to pay no one said how was your meal? Staff need training. Won’t be returning as car park too small had to park on the busy road.”

“This was a lovely random find. Open throughout the day serving food (some places nearby stop after lunch for a few hours). Really gorgeous, clean and spacious pub. Nicely decorated, large space and big conservatory plus huge garden. Very varied menu and very good prices. Food was delicious. Saw they have events like pub quizzes and live bands. We were so happy with the place we are going back for a live music night in the next few weeks. Staff were all very attentive, kind and welcoming. Highly recommend :) We went on a quite afternoon, I could imagine it being very busy on different days.”

“My sister and I visited the Yorkshire Grey after I had heard good reviews. We weren't disappointed. Even though it was busy the food and drinks came out in good time and was excellent quality. Waitress was very friendly too!”
