Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the hosting and service at events, with one staff member repeatedly credited for smooth planning, a food tasting, and accommodating requests for birthday parties and family celebrations in the hall. Food draws the next tier of praise, with kottu named by two reviewers, along with chicken biryani, chef's special tiger prawns, lamprais, mutton curry, masala dosa, venison fry, and a Tamil new year thaali that one reviewer likened to home cooking. A Sunday breakfast deal is also praised for generous portions. One dissenting reviewer describes a largely empty restaurant where staff seemed more focused on paperwork behind the bar than on customers, calls the food average, and says a beer was missing from the bill until they pointed it out. By contrast, one event host asked for spice adjustments after the tasting and found the dishes tasted even better on the day.

“Delicious food in an unsuspecting harrow street. Even on a Tuesday at 9:30pm it feels lively and a welcoming atmosphere. We had the mutton curry, the kottu and the masala dosa!”

“We recently hosted our one-year-old’s birthday party at Praba Restaurant & Party Hall, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The venue is extremely family-friendly, spacious, and perfect for celebrations with kids and family gatherings. The food was absolutely amazing with plenty of variety, and every guest thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything was well organized, and the atmosphere made our celebration even more special. A special thanks to Rohit, who has been incredible from day one. He went above and beyond to accommodate all our requests and made the entire planning process smooth and stress-free. His dedication, professionalism, and friendly approach truly stood out. Highly recommend Praba Restaurant & Party Hall for anyone looking to host a memorable family event!”

“Had an amazing experience at this Sri Lankan Tamil restaurant! The flavors were rich, authentic, and beautifully balanced. A special shoutout to Rohit for recommending the chef’s special tiger prawns — they were absolutely phenomenal. Perfectly cooked, packed with bold spices, and easily the show-stealer of the night. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something truly memorable!”

“I came today for sangam voice music competition @Praba's restaurant. The ambience was really good. I had vadai and chutney was really tasty and very crispy. And also for lunch I had lamprais really tasty.”

“Very disappointing experience. The staff were not attentive or understanding at all. They seemed more focused on paperwork behind the bar than on customers. Communication was poor, and most of the time no one was around to serve us or even check in—despite the restaurant being largely empty. We felt completely ignored. The food was average at best, definitely not living up to the hype seen in many of the Google reviews. On top of that, a beer we ordered was never added to our bill. After noticing, we had to remind a new staff member who had just started their shift and had no idea about our order. When the original server came back, they casually told the new staff to just add it and then asked us to “leave one more Google review,” as if the situation was a joke. That was quite unprofessional. The effort you put into pushing customers for reviews should instead go into improving your service and food quality. We had already left a review, but after overhearing that comment, we felt it was necessary to update it. Please focus on training your staff better rather than chasing reviews.”
