About Mullai Express
Mullai Express is a takeaway in Harrow at 313 Northolt Rd, open daily. The menu centres on mutton fry and mutton rolls, with biryani alongside them. The shop runs a food counter and a separate billing counter, so collecting an order and paying for it happen at two different points. Staff also take phone orders while customers are already waiting in line, which means the team handles callers and walk-in customers at the same time.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers praise the biryani and curries as fresh, homemade and delicious, with generous portions and friendly, quick staff. Tea divides opinion. One customer calls it the best in a long time, served with a warm smile, while another says it tasted like hot water with too little milk powder. Service draws the most complaints. Several describe rude staff at the billing and food counters, and one says there is no clear system, with phone orders taken while people wait and newcomers served before those already in line. One reviewer notes the food itself was good despite the staff attitude. Others fault the mutton fry as mostly onion and chillies with few pieces of meat. One reviewer reports mutton rolls that smelled of bad oil and a stomach upset afterward, and another describes grey chilli chicken with bone fragments in every piece that left them feeling unwell.

“Food can be hit or miss, but the customer service is consistently poor. There’s no clear system for serving customers - staff take phone orders while several people are already waiting, and newcomers are often served before those who’ve been in line for a while. The lack of organisation makes the whole experience frustrating.”

“Hi, Today I feel compelled to leave a review on your page. I bought some snacks from your shop this morning. The quality of your food was good but your staff's attitude is very bad. The influence of the staff plays a significant role in the growth of an organization, but what I experienced today was a disdainful attitude from the staff specifically from billing staff. Expecting a more accepting attitude from the staff.”

“The food tastes fresh and homemade, with just the right amount of spice and flavour. Their biryani is absolutely delicious, and the curries are packed with taste — you can tell they use good ingredients. The portions are generous, prices are super reasonable, and the staff are friendly and quick. Whether you’re eating in or grabbing a takeaway, it’s a really easy, pleasant experience. If you’re in South Harrow, definitely give this place a try.”

“We ordered 2 cups of tea today , horrible tea just felt like drinking hot water , waste of money , stingy for milk powder ,”

“I do not recommend ordering food from here. I ordered the chilli chicken which had bone fragments in every piece and the chicken was grey. It has made me feel very unwell, this is the second time now, I have learnt my lesson.”
