About The Why Not Inn
Reopened after a refurbishment under the Black Country Ales brand, The Why Not Inn is a specialist real ale pub on Whynot St in Halesowen. The bar stocks a wide selection of ales and beers, and an open fire burns in the bar. Photos of Cradley hang on the walls, which gives the room the feel of a community local. Dogs are welcome inside. For food, the pub serves filled crusty cobs alongside bar snacks such as crisps.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the beer, kept and served so well that one says a bad pint never happens, with a large range of ales on offer. Close behind are the filled crusty cobs, which several mention alongside bar snacks like crisps. After the refurbishment, the new owners are described as friendly and energetic, and the pub is called a great community hub with a new darts area and a redone smoking area with heaters. Food is the one point of disagreement. Some diners praise hot meals, including a Turkey, Ham and Leek pie, three courses, and a wedding buffet, while others say the pub no longer sells food, and one wishes it did beyond cobs and crisps. One reviewer also notes the nearby car park holds only about four cars, with spaces on surrounding roads. Dogs are welcome, kids are welcome until 7, and the roaring open fire comes up repeatedly.

“The Why Not inn since Josh and Leah have restored it has become a great community pub and hub. It offers a great choice of ales, beers wine and more along with traditional cobs with regular events. We also held our wedding reception here with them preparing a wonderful tasty buffet. At first we thought it was a little expensive but trust me it was worth every penny. Every bit of food had been careful put together and was really tasty. All the team at The Why Not ensured the day was perfect too, we couldnt have asked for any more!! This place offers the very best of hospitality with local Black Country charm! The beers good the foods good what more could you want!? Sadly now we have moved away but we won't be strangers to this great pub. Thanks again and see you soon!”

“Came here to do a catch up with family. Very popular local pub and great food. The Turkey, Ham and Leek pie was brilliant and so much. Completely stuffed - will come again soon. So two years later they have done a refurb and it looks the business with energetic new owners.”

“Would be nicer if they offered food. However they do lovely filled crusty cobs and bar snacks like crisps. New owners are lovely. You can bring dogs along. Worth a visit as it's a nice relaxed pub on the quieter side.”
